Don't renew

Ah whey let’s try nowt eh.

Worked with Ashley at Newcastle.
Worked with Donald and Methven here.
Not renewing on the BCB after what happened earlier this year and the general decline in there, I will keep a season ticket. I had a ST when Donald and Methven cleared off, so that approach seems to work.

How did it work with Ashley? He remained at the club for 13 more years.

He sold them didn’t he?

I know you’re a bit of a defender of the club so pointless getting involved.

If people want to renew they can. If people don’t want to and feel like they’re making a stand they can.

We all want the best for Sunderland. We just have different ideas on how to bring change

We’re getting 40k at the minute and he’s not spending anything.

He and the rest of the ownership group take the fans for mugs.

He needs to decide if he wants to run and finance us properly. If not he should sell up.

According to this we’re 9th out of 24 clubs on net spend. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not buzzing with that (on income I assume we’re in the top 5) but it’s not massively away from what you’d expect for a club in our position.

We’ve just bought shite players in the main for three windows which is probs a separate issue.

What after 13 years?? Hardly to do with the boycotts was it. All to do with Saudi interest. Not today I’m not defending anyone. Just take objection with people calling me worse than shite because I renew (not you I know). You’ll never find me having a go at anyone not renewing I expect the same back. The club being shite is not because of the fans

He sold when someone matched his valuation.

To think he sold for any other reason is just daft.

If reports are correct that Quinn’s tickets upto £1600 then I’ll be waiting till I see what the summer brings before I renew the 3 ST’s.
As another poster said I never felt this way all thru the dark years of league 1.
This model and ownership has zapped my enjoyment
They want £1770 for Quinn’s next season 😬

Correct

Absolute nonsense imo. Did Ellis Short spend more to entice fans back? He’d more likely give up and just sell to the first person who offered to buy it, regardless of their intentions which might be worse

Add Murray/ Featherstone in the mid 90s to that when we had to scrape 100k together to buy Kubicki.

This ‘not going to get them to spend cash’ hasn’t been seen in my lifetime.

Their fans made their discontent clear though.

There was always a narrative in the media that he wasn’t well liked.

I doubt any media outlet would cover a story about Sunderland fans being unhappy after the season we’ve had. A sudden drop off in season cards may well make it more clear.

If they even appeared to be taking on feedback or acknowledge their mistakes then I certainly would be more optimistic and more likely to renew. But their stubbornness and arrogance is massively working against them.

If we make the decision to not renew, it’ll be a tough decision as my 2 lads (and myself) enjoy that “lads” time together. We still look forward to every home game, which is sharply knocked out of us of late, with the absolute dross we’re having to watch. But, reality is, this whole set up has zero ambition. Last season was enjoyable, football very good on the eye and entertaining. Yes we had a few bad home games, but nothing like this season. Very sad what’s going on.
