*~*~* Sunderland v Hull match thread *~*~*

He clearly was, hence them scoring from the resulting corner
What about the errors in between oniens header and the goal? Are they not worthy of comment

It’s weird that you’re picking out one action by a Sunderland player and not any other. It’s not even that terrible a touch.

Patterson should have caught it. If it was a foul on him, it’s a referee error. We should clear the first ball. Pritchard could control the ball and loses it. Nobody marks Carvalho.

Loads happens between the header and the goal and it’s weird why you’ve picked oniens header as the crucial moment

But they weren't playing a team with a L2-level striker. You adapt your tactics based on the team you're playing. They had a plan and executed it perfectly. Beale on the other hand, waiting until the 80th min to grow a pair of balls is a complete joke.
Re: Beale, completely agree. Either way, this just isn't good enough from Sunderland.

They are trying to base the whole game on possession like jack Ross we aren’t getting amywhere where with the ball they aren’t progressive passes your relying on our centre half’s playing like pirlo

when is this idiot going to promote direct football instead of the back passing negative crap we experience week after week. Nothing ventured nothing gaine

The referee doesn’t play for us, I don’t have to see his face every week. Onien does. Can only control what goes on on our side of the pitch - and dropping Onien is something we as a club can control. Referees make shit calls all the time. For the record, I don’t think it’s a foul. I do think it’s a goal kick mind, but again hard to give in real time in fairness.

If you've a team full of inexperienced players you need an experienced manger not this f***ing clown.
Another good point. Who's the voice in this team? It's not the manager.

I rarely see the players discussing things on the pitch, maybe the occasional shout and point after the event, but that's it.

They clearly don't know what the plan is in the final third.
