*~*~* Sunderland v Hull match thread *~*~*

People are obsessed with Beale but he isn’t the problem. We could change the head coach time and again, but until we get a striker who is strong enough to hold the ball up and bring the midfielders and wingers into play we’ll struggle. The answer isn’t Rusyn, he’s bullied out of the game and will only get something if the defence pushes up and he gets a run at a long ball over the top. Opposition defenders sit back and watch us play the ball endlessly sideways. We need a Mick Harford/Quinny type in the middle to change the dynamic of our attack
Stewart was perfect.

He scored goals.
Held the ball up.
Defended well on set pieces.
Was dangerous attacking set pieces.
And he worked very hard, often winning the ball back from defenders or forcing them to make mistakes.
