Yann M'vila - target or not?

While I loved him and would love to see it work out, I can’t help but think it’ll ply out like Defoe again.

Bring him in to keep the fans happy and win them back over.

Then he hardly gets a kick because it’d mean jobe, Neil, ekiwah etc losing valuable minutes in the shop window.
He’s got more talent in his little toe than ekwah has in his full body

He’s 33. Its the Championship. He’s a cut above for this league. Would be class for those lads.

People underestimate how much young players learn from being around quality senior pro’s.

It’s elite level but Maldini when he first broke through says he learnt more from Baresi in a year than the rest of the coaches he had combined. Luca Toni says Roberto Baggio at Brescia taught him how to play CF and score goals.
Zola says he was only the player he was because he trained with Maradona as a kid.
Apparently all the United lads game went up a level training with Cantona.

MVilla is exactly what we need

This M'Vila age thing (33).
Currently 36 Premier League players are 33 and older.
Championship 44.
Aye with120 appearances in the last three seasons including 34 in the Europa League, the 33 year old former fan favourite basically offering to help us on and off the pitch for very little remuneration, is apparently too old now
This place man!

We brought Dwight Yorke in to play defensive midfield when he was 35 and on the back of a season playing in Australia. I’m sure a 33 year old can come in and do a job in a position that he’s played all his life like.

It's laughable that people honestly believe he wouldn't shine in this league right here right now.

If he is so desperate to come and play for Sunderland again offer him £10k a week clearly no one wants him so club in a stronger position over any deal

When was the last time YM‘V played, 8 months ago???
The season will be over by the time he could get up to speed, it’s a pipe dream unfortunately

What do you think he’s been doing for the 8 months like? Food eating challenges and watching box sets non-stop?

He’ll have been training because he doesn’t want to stop playing. He’ll lack match sharpness, but he’ll be in a better position than someone coming back from an injury, for example.

Not denying any of that. Like I say I love him and would love for it to work out.

I just can see speakman not wanting to play him as it’ll hinder the development of his cash cows

can’t see us signing him unfortunately. If we were interested then why the fuck would we have waited until halfway through the January window to do it? He’s been a free agent since the start of the season. We could have got him at any time if we wanted him.
Shame. He really would have contributed on the pitch and with the development of our young and very ‘green’ midfielders!
