*~*~* Ipswich v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Slow. Predictable. Boring. Unadventurous. How the hell have we turned into a team of plodders ffs..

Bellingham, Ekwah and Alese have been fûcking dreadful. Complete waste of space the lot of em.

Same old story but a decent centre forward would transform us, moves breaking down from good positions 'cos there's nee-one to hold the ball up or get on the end of crosses.

Perhaps you missed Ipswich's high press and ability to quickly close us down, one of the various reasons they are where they are in the league.

Our passing has been sub par at times but we've matched a tough side away from home and can cause them problems.

Ipswich press well. So did Newcastle and we still fannied on passing out from the back causing our own problems. Passing out from the back draws out teams who want to sit back , Ipswich don't.

Don't see the problems we are going to cause them apart from the odd break away or hoping for Clarke magic again.

Beale Ball is dross.

Pass, take a touch, pass, take a touch, pass…… they press us and we get dispossessed or hit a five yard pass to an opponent. No intensity, no urgency. Not a fan of Bealeball so far.

Jobe ball watching, had no idea what was going on around him. Just stood there when the pass was intercepted in front of him. Dreadful.
Yeah he did nowt at all either win or retrieve ball. It was his if he was on his toes. Beginning to think he’s not all that!

Ba is so frustrating. 90% of the time he will look to lay the ball off backwards when he receives it to the extent that he's a waste of a shirt. Then he goes and does that and creates the goal. If Beale is a top coach, as he thinks he is, he really needs to get into Ba's head and explain that laying the ball off 9 out 10 times is not acceptable. He's on the pitch to score or create chances and he can do it.

He is playing as a defensive midfielder when he isn't. He should be playing in bellinghams position and Bellingham in the 21s. Is the set up, not the player.

Not sure where he fits in.

If he isn’t a dm and he isn’t an am then where does he play?

O'Nien and Neil playing well
Luke looked a tad pissed with himself for their goal. Think it was a good ball in behind personally
The disappointing thing is that when Jobe lost the 50/50 ball he just stood there and watched them move forward. Can forgive his failed attempt to hold the ball up but not his inability to try to win it back. You can't just stand still and watch the play develop after you lose the ball.
