If you ignore the season we finished 8th, and when we were 11th literally the month Speakman took over and just before his first transfer window, then aye; we were never midtable in League One.

We finished 8th on an algorithm in a season ended two months prematurely. Getting Sunderland out of league one, with all the advantages we had there, was far from miraculous.
