Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Anyone know if the Tram Shelter is open tomorrow? I can't see much on social media. Seven of us out and fancy starting down the riviera.

Any route suggestions would be welcomed as well, ending in town.

Tram Shelter, possibly the Roker, Sardines, Harbour View, TTH, Avenue (?), Keel Tavern, Peacock, etc

Weather forecast isn't great for trekking along the coast mind so cherry picked the Seaburn and Roker bars. I'm out tomorrow, just heading into town 2ish I think.
 
I had a rare night out in Sunderland on Saturday. There doesn't seem to be anyone under the age of 35 out drinking anymore, everyone much older. Don't the kids go out these days?

They're taking bookings for tomorrow, that much at least is on there, though not much available

Town was canny yesterday. A few people in Chaplins and Fitzies, Peacock busier than I expected, and was filling up more as we left. Keel Tavern beer was superb, pie and mash spot on. Fire Station was ok, sadly don't sell the Salt pale ales anymore, then Vesta Tilleys for cheap beer and lots of tvs showing the football.

Nowhere was absolutely rammed, but all, bar maybe Fitzies, were busier than I'd expected.
 
10 of us in town from 3ish today before the Moti Raj later. Expect it'll be Chaplins, PoC, Cougar Rose and working down to Vesta Tilley's beforehand as most of them like cooking lager and John Smiths........
 
I was in The Dun Cow, The Peacock and The Keel Tavern, with ex RTG poster @Barry Siddal, before the match against Coventry.

It's the first time I've been in the Peacock, since it was called The Londonderry in a previous life, and it was my first time in the Keel Tavern.

The Dun Cow is still my favourite pre/post match pub, along with Fitzies and The Ivy House.

I’m travelling up for the scum game on the 5th Jan and staying near The Cambridge. Was thinking of just having a few in there and maybe a few in others within walking distance rather than heading to the centre.

Is it a decent pub and which others are worth a look folks? (I don’t know the area that well)

Maxie has got the Cambridge canny mate. Nice little local pub. Get yerself up to the fans museum n'all. Loads of old memorabilia and stuff in there

The Avenue is not too far from there either and it's decent.
