I was going to post that it didn't do any favours to ageing cars that bridge.Back in the 90s, my dad gouged a hole in the fuel tank going over there after he succumbed to us egging him on. Got some canny airtime like from what I remember
The film Stormy Monday starring Sting had a car crash scene filmed on Spookys BridgeBack in the 90s, my dad gouged a hole in the fuel tank going over there after he succumbed to us egging him on. Got some canny airtime like from what I remember

Went in there a couple of times, I liked itWhatever happened to Dougies Tavern? That was an interesting place back in the day
False economy of not joining AA/RAC, I hope you've learned your lesson. My pride and joy Peugeot 205 gti broke down just near the longship in 1987ish, so I pulled it into a residential street, bout 10 in morning on a school day, and made my way via metro / bus etc to my dads in seaham, him and I went through to tow it back. In total say 4 hours and I reckon it was about 3 actually. It proved v difficult to tow a car with no alloys, car radio cassette player (top make as well), no drivers window or heated rear window and a v bent steering wheel where someone had kindly tried to take my steering lock off for me. My dad and me went in the longship for a pint and to dry my eyes, where I was offered a top bollocks radio cassette and a talking heads tape for a knockdown price. Never been back since.
You going to the scum game marra ?Not like the OP, or one of his aliases, to start a stupid thread full of shit.

Sounds like the tables got a good hiding, based on the OP?
Sorry to interject, but it was Spuggies Bridge. The spookies legend began after a 1973 sighting by a p.c. when he'd thought he'd hit a pedestrian he's seen but couldn't find any trace of a body. Ref: Colin Lawson book ^The Legend of Spuggies Bridge".Spookys Bridge near Luke’s lane
