Forthcoming gigs.

Skinny Lister were sensational in Sheffield last night. Next up for me is Prowsey’s Christmas bash in Liverpool on Saturday night with support from an acoustic set by three members of The Men They Couldn’t Hang. Pretty much a dream
line up for me.
I remember taking an ex to an absolute shithole of a pub in the Hairy Triangle area of Edinburgh to see TMTCH. Not ashamed to say there was a tear in my eye when they came on, thought I would never get a chance to see them.

I’ve seen all three of the aforementioned many times over the years and I will never tire of seeing them. I can’t recall how many times that I’ve seen them all but it is 18 for Skinny Lister, 14 for TMTCH since 2013 but I don’t know how many before that. Prowsey will have a similar total to the others as I saw him 4 times in 2022 alone.

It`s been 17 years since their last proper tour. A one-off in London is a very poor show for a band that proclaims to love the UK. I`ve seen them a few times and each time the place was rammed so there`s no excuse saying there`s no demand. I`m quite tempted to go though. Might be the last chance.
Funny @mickb2112 I was thinking of going. Especially as Extreme have been thrown into the ring. Scorpions was one of my first concerts many moons ago

Saw Gogol Bordello at the Newcastle NX last night, unreal show, they really know how to work a crowd, the place was bouncing. 1hr 45 which is a lot longer than most nowadays. Decent venue now than it was when it was the academy, better for viewing.
Support band were really good too, Peat and Diesel. Went down really well.

Off to the NX next year for The Cadillac Three, used to like the Academy so how is viewing better marra?

They've took out the bar on the left hand side looking at the stage, there is some seating there but the standing space appears much wider as they've moved the bar on the other side further back. There is also a stairway there now leading to upstairs where you can view on a balcony a bit higher up.
Behind the sound desk that area appears better and has become the main bar area.
Toilets are also about 4 x bigger than they were with stairs up from near the main floor rather than fighting your way through the crowd to the back entrance.

Only downside is there is no longer a seating area upstairs so if you or a member of your party prefers to sit for gigs you're pretty much knackered.

Due to see the Saw Doctors next Friday up at Barrowlands but debating going up or not going to cost a fortune with trains hotel and drink / food etc

I am sure they will be touring next year

Sounds champion marra, I’ll look forward to it.

Been to the City Hall twice with the seats taken out downstairs and it was great, plenty room and the slope helps with the view.

Being dragged to Noel in a week or so in Leeds. Not really a fan maybe heard a couple of his solo songs, hopefully finishes with a few oasis songs to make the trip worth while.
