This is a longer version of just saying the model doesn't work. If you sell a striker for 10m and can't replace him with anyone who can score a goal in a year, then it doesn't work.

If you go for a cheap lucky dip you end up trying 4 or 5 times and still can't be sure

That’s hard to argue against mate. After his injury’s I wouldn’t have paid him what Southampton are. But we should have gave him a new long term contract after the promotion, he was class for us.

Equally our cfs don't take penalties which means it is harder for them to stat pad. They have been poor though and we have to sign a player to replace Stewarts style of play because it also help having an outlet like him who could also hold up the ball

Considering KLD has built everything on data, I get the feeling speakman etc will be not comfortable about this. Speakman does everything based on data
