Forthcoming gigs.

Declan Welsh & the Decadent West @ The Grove, Newcastle.

New venue to tick-off the list! Very impressed with the place - good selection of booze available, plus they do 0% Guinness. Didn't try the food, but I walked by the kitchen, and it smelled good (looked clean anarl). Cracking little sound and lighting set-up for a small venue. I compared it being like a boujee version of Colbalt Studios. Managed to park-up nee bother (though I was petrified of my car being nicked, with it being in Byker).

As for DW&TDW, they were class. First time I've seen them, and they put a lot of energy into the set, despite the place only being a quarter full on a miserable Wednesday night. Worth checking-out, if you get the chance!

tanners - scranners are doing the food in there. recommended! 9/10 pipin hot huns

byker? it's the upper ouseburn valley creative quarter!! ;)
ACR @ The Glasshouse last night

2 sets from the Mancunian post punk funkateers

1) From "All Night Party", through their first few albums. Super tight rhythm section, as you've come to expect. Did about 45 mins, then a short interval to get drinks / chat

2) Straight into it with " Si Firmo O Grido", "27 Forever", "I Won't Stop Loving You" (Dedicated to Denise Johnson), then up to date with the Mute releases and finishing off with "Good Together"

Added bonus was the bass player on the night, apparently being from Sunderland . Great vocals from Ellie

Crowd were a bit stiff tbh and sparse, but post gig reports are people were happy. Good to see some familiar faces from Wonderland and to meet @Hot Since 82

My hour pre gig was recorded and is up on soundcloud

Cheers Tony. Great set from you mate, seems unlikely you will ever get a closer gig to the shop!

Good show from ACR. Hoochie is a much better venue for them I feel, as you say hopefully back there next year then. As for stiff, all getting on a bit now mate and a school night (as usual). The kid from Sunderland looked canny relaxed on bass, can't be many bands with 3 such superb bass players, hope the lad asks Donald for some slap lessons. He's certainly going to be learning a huge amount playing with them. Jez was probably not expecting the ferocious cheers at the mention of Sunderland, ha ha.

Ellie doesn't yet have the raucous power that Denise had but a really beautiful voice all the same and obviously still finding her sound as clearly very young, isn't she the lass who has sang with new order too? Good to see her and Martin sporting 586 Records shirts too.

Nice touch for the band to come out to sign stuff afterwards.

 no nerves on show and did a great job. hopefully the cheers will have let him know, there were some daft lads in there

don't think ellie has sang with new order. i might be proved wrong, of course. (looking at discogs, and no sign of anything)

aye, they're good as gold for signing stuff. what did you end up with?

5 mins to drag the records to the venue and a lift home. dressing room could have benefiited from some soft lighting and m&m's

Ah, she sang on the decades synth orchestra tour which will be where I first saw her mate. Not on a recording by the looks.

T shirt (mate) and a 1982 poster.

M and M's not too much to ask for your rider surely 😊

Hope that works for you. Couldn't see it on firestation site either.
Anyone having trouble paying for tickets? Getting to the final bit but error message coming up when I put my card details in

Had to give up in the end, head is battered. Will ring the ticket office when they open later, hopefully still plenty seats left

see tickets selling them too
Aye I seen that mate but think it’s standing only on there? Getting me dad tickets for Xmas don’t think he could handle standing for that long. Think it’s just my card playing up tbh going to try sort them over the phone

Scrap that finally sorted
