Nah, I’ve stumped players off wides back in the days when my knees were up to standing behind the timbers, at least a couple of times from one that speared down leg on purpose. It takes a special level of stupidity to be run out at the non-striker’s end off one, but no doubt for me it’s legit.

They all play more than 1 format bar Willey tbf. If it wasn’t for the T20 World Cup next year they’d have probs not given Ali/Malan one. Was surprised Rashid and Woakes got more than 1 year mind didn’t make much sense
