Boro thread

Hang on a minute your player should have got a straight red for a ridiculous studs up lunge, then gets himself sent off for running up to and swearing at the ref which has been made clear is an instant yellow this season, what else could the ref do, overlook the law change ? I didn’t see any of you lot complaining last season when Fry got a red for a pretty debatable 50/50 challenge which started outside the box and ended up a red and a penalty. Your player got what he deserved in the end because he definitely got away with the first incident
To be fair he overlooked plenty in the game

Neil probably should have had a red but if you are talking about applying laws then both Greenwood and Coburn should also have seen red in that game.

In terms of the dissent thing, just apply it consistently both teams were at it yesterday just doesn’t make sense that only players booked for it were Sunderland players.

Shame as I thought it was a good game up to that point Boro shading first 20 mins is shading the next 20 or so.

After the red Mowbray dropped a bollock with his tactical approach and as a good passing team you moved us around and were really professional.

Much needed three points for you lot, think you will be up their with us come the end of the season

Look, if you're just going to make shit up, fuck off back to your Voro echo chamber. Neil never ran, he walked up the pitch. You lot and every single person in the stadium and watching on TV must have been like, what the fuck happened there?

How come it is extremely rare, except for this clown shoe of a ref's other games, that you don't see decisions like this, do you think?

If the boot was on the other foot and Boro had a man sent off in the same circumstances they'd be unstandably fuming as well. I wonder how many examples there were of worse being said at any other ground in the country yesterday without a card being produced?

In reality there'd be five or more sending offs a game, ludicrous way to referee a highly emotive fixture.

This is of course the reality - that's why it awful refereeing. He got emotional and thought "i'll show you" because DN was questioning his decision to let Clarke get booted all over.

Pathetic mentality from the ref, absolutely not cut out for high level english refereeing.

Did Greenwood get booked? I was sure that he did but on all the match reports I’ve seen it doesn’t show that he did.

Seaham , I like you as a poster .

You did us yesterday , no complaints from me.

However , last game I was level with what happened . It was a penalty and a red , end of.
Fair enough, you were there and i only saw it on telly - still think it was Harsh (through my Boro eyes 😜).
Point I'm making though, is that we all have decisions go against us, but it's how we adapt and cope with it that matters.

How can boro fans mention empty seats? Even when loads of people piled out there was still more people in the ground than your home games get
We can not get 45k in our ground, but yes anyone saying anything about your empty seats is a div.

Fair enough seaham.

I thought yesterday’s red was harsh.

However you just can’t gob off to refs now.

Was his own daft fault.

For the record , even if he was wasn’t sent off I felt the game was headed for a draw.

Trying to be balanced here. If Neil probably did fully connect with your lad, there’s a strong chance it could’ve been a red. Said on other threads do any of us know what was definitively said between him and the ref to get the second yellow? Seemed harsh on face of it.

Boro took full advantage so no complaints. Hopefully with us having such a young squad we learn from it and quickly.
A tackle doesn’t need to connect to be deemed dangerous - I’ve seen plenty of players sent off for exactly this. If the ref deems it a dangerous tackle/serious foul play, whether actual contact is made is irrelevant. Read the rules of football, they’re freely available - always amazes me the number of people who watch the game every week and have no idea of the actual rules of the game !

The meltdown on here, it might not be a derby to you but the reaction to defeat is priceless, I was starting to believe the hype, big club, gonna smash boro and any other team who you play, in reality, loads of empty seats and not a great performance even with 11 men on the pitch.
You can’t even fill your own ground ffs

Ridiculous studs up challenge? The one where your player was barely touched and a deserved yellow card was dished out? Running up to and swearing at the ref? Where he stood ten feet away and used the word fuck, toward but not at the ref who then ran toward the player? Aye, you’re accurate apart from all of that you complete balloon 😂. That’s before we even get into the persistent fouling with nowt being done, deserved second yellows not being given and deliberate elbow to Ballards face from your lot. You got the majority of decisions from a shite ref which allowed you to push on and win a game that was well balanced and could well have gone either way otherwise. Take your three points, your two heads and shuffle off back to your toxic wasteland. We’ll see who ends up where at the end of the season. I’m confident enough we’ll be above you come May.
Try reading the rules of the game, you’ll find it useful in understanding what’s going on - or maybe not
