The ref (see PGMOL thread)

Crooks made 2 fouls very quickly, referee told him enough. Not long after, another foul, but doesn’t even speak to him.

Coburn leads with an elbow on Ballard, gets the same punishment as Ballard did for reacting.

Greenwood on a yellow, couple more fouls, not even spoken to.

We go up for challenges with their keeper - fouls. They challenge Patterson - nowt given.

Jones dives - not even a word said.

Their fullback pulls Clarke back, referee plays on but doesn’t book him after. Fullback makes another foul not long after, again not even a word.

I can accept shite refs if they’re consistently shite. That today was abysmal

Ref was crap, particularly the inconsistencies with players being pulled back and allowing Crook to go unpunished, but Neil got a yellow for doing the very thing all clubs were told would result in yellow before the season started.
Poor game management and awareness from one of our slightly more senior players.

If that’s the rules, then fair enough. But apply them consistently

I’m not quite as outraged at the ref as others. The second yellow for Neil if looked at in isolation was justified in line with tougher directives this year. I would say that it ws out of character with the rest of his performance where he was reluctant to give out yellows for deliberate shirt pulls etc. on balance I’m more annoyed at Neil than the ref for giving him a decision to make
Normally that’s fair enough but it raises question about the dissent rule when a player gets sent off. It was also a “derby” match and that ref was not fit for the occasion in any way. It’s bound to be more engaged just feeding off the atmosphere.

I noticed when Ballard was having another go the referee was checking who he’d already booked so he knew it was a mistake on Neil. That also screams lack of constancy too.

I will say the performance was particularly poor when down to ten men mind. We too the striker off and they had plenty back each time meaning we shouldn’t have been overrun.

Well done you f***ing prick. Absolutely destroyed what was decent game of football.

I don’t mind getting beat but the amount of times dissent goes unpunished and this **** decides to make point just before half time.
**** ruined a good game of football.

Hopefully officiating Durham under 5s league next week.

I don’t mind getting beat but cheated today

Copy and paste this to the EFL, perfect summary of a shite/biased performance
