Mowbray

Personally after the season we've just had and the overall improvement on the pitch from previous seasons, I might have waited a bit longer than two games into a 46 game season to launch a biscuity rant at the coaching and running of the club. But that's just me

I have a foot in both camps. I'm all for losing the biscuit munching yet remain supportive of the retention of his coaching and development skills.

Well said. Are these whinging clowns those who sit in their match seats, watch on TV or neither but love a good bleat?
I'm worried about a) Mowbray's teeth and b) his likelihood of diabetes
He can have a three course meal for alI I care. You may one day notice that he has proved that he is a winner in his role.

I think the only real change has been moving Bellingham further forward - having someone looking to run in behind gives the opposition more to think about, whereas in the first two games and quite a lot of times at home last season we relied on the wingers (and Amad) to pull something spectacular out the bag, we piled men forward to compensate for the lack of striker and were easy to counter.

We were very unfortunate to have lost the first two games - we missed gilt-edged chances and conceded from deflections. More often than not we take those chances and don't concede the deflected goals. The probability of that happening two games in a row must be very low.

The reaction after the first two games was pathetic to be honest.

The start of every season is always a shambles for every club - the new players have come in, some don't have the exposure to our tactics and how we are to play, and they don't have that synergy with each other yet. Most are lacking match fitness, despite a whirlwind tour of the US (for SAFC), playing opposition that aren't at the standard quality wise of the teams we face in the Championship. If after 10 matches we haven't improved then defo, something is wrong. Sometimes tactics that worked last year don't work this year, and they need adjusted. Tony isn't resting on his laurels though, you can see we are improving with every match. And nothing can improve the squad more than a cheering crowd on their side. Booing them and shouting insults after 2 games isn't going to do the young lads confidence any favors

"Booing them and shouting insults"..never happened. Why are you just making stuff up?

Absolutely not. The squad is good like I always said, we have struck a better balance between attack and defence than we had early on this season, changing it slightly has resulted in points.
I'd say that the difference is getting the rub of the green. Instead of conceding to deflections, we've scored one and got away with a strong penalty shout. We're not playing any better or worse, or indeed, significantly differently, it's just a few little things have fallen our way, rather than the oppos. What has changed is that Pierre Ekwah is getting better at his defensive duties. It's more that he's got better, rather than a change in how we play, though.

Don't agree with that. We sat far deeper on Saturday and played on the counter because of Southampton style of play and vulnerability to counter attacks. It was massively different to the earlier games for me.

This. A few people online expressing concerns doesn't matter and is just like a discussion you have in the pub.

The team were well supported in the stadium as always. Things are more nuanced than people on here thinking a criticism or concern means you aren't supporting the team.
Embarrasing from the OP

Exactly. The crowd have never booed the players once this season..or last season. Why do people just fabricate shit up??

I still think Mowbray is the best man given the current status of the 'project'. Definitely this season.

We are continuing, in fact accelerating the youngun stragegy and he's a great coach to integrate and teach them the basics all while providing an attacking blend of football.

But the board want promotion. Whether thats a reasonable expectation given the lack of experience Mowbray has been given I don't know, but ultimately he will have to do very well this season to keep his job I feel.

They seem to be itching to get a young foreign coach in.

Bang on about how we approached the game on Saturday compared to the other games this season👏👏

Get on the training field and start organising the defence and how we work without the ball.

Same goals conceded every week, wide open when we lose the ball and within 2 passes they're one on one.

Piece of piss to play against. Get some f***ing coaching done during the week and get some organisation into this team please.

Pfffffffffft

The shout may have been strong but the claim was as weak as water. The ref saw it for what it was and possibly should have given us a free kick as their player made no attempt to play the ball with his left foot, preferring to deliberately, imo, make contact with Dack
