Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

@biggie knows his stuff man

Played for Newcastle and Leeds

If it’s the club leaking it then it’ll need taking with a pinch of salt! I bet Southampton leak something slightly different. Reminds me of us buying Turner and Fletcher. The buyers and sellers briefed very different totals
Between 10-12m is good for the situation we were in imo

Insane to me the club didn’t close this deal up and keep him. All this “we don’t know if he’ll be the same player coming back from injury” talk belongs in the 70’s-90’s. Medical innovations today have rendered that talk a thing of the past. Best of luck to the Loch Ness Drogba. Sad to see him go. Granted we don’t know the full story of what happened in negotiations and we probably never will, I just think we should have and could have done more to keep him. Understand fully he left, he’s owed far more than we ever paid him. The model is working, time to reinvest in the next young talent and let’s crack on.

In the whole time he’s been here he hasn’t had 1 full season fit. Absolutely fantastic business by us. Hope we pull our finger out.

On Saturday morning I will quote KS interview in May, when he talks about the clubs target of improving our 6th position from last season and the challenge to improve the quality of our squad to improve our chances of a top finish.

I cannot believe we have allowed this to happen. Thank you Ross Stewart all the best at Southampton, Russell Martin is a good judge.

A guaranteed add on could be instalments so here's 8m now and then we'll give you the other £2m over the next 12/24 months so we get what we want (10m) and Southampton can spread the cost.
That isn't an add-on. An add-on is a specified target being met - appearances, goals, trophies, league position etc.

Fees aren't generally paid as a lump sum. They're paid over the contract length of the player.

This is why you should never get too invested in a player . At the end of the day , most of them care little about about the club they play for and are really only in it for the wages they receive . All this loving the club and kissing the badge is utter bullshit and they’ll be off as soon as they are offered a better deal .

According to the sunderland echo :

The Echo understands that the club could net in the region of an additional £4 million in add-ons, while they also have included a sell-on clause as part of the deal should Southampton sell the forward for a profit in the future.
