Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

In all my lifetime I’ve only preferred Phillips and Defoe as strikers for this club, Sunderland AFC, KLD and Speakman have a huge 30 hours ahead of them. All the goodwill that’s been present since May 2022 could evaporate.

So with the Lihadji money and this twats money we should have at least £10m burning a hole in the French skinflints pocket.

On a side note I’ve just walked the dogs round the riverside and through the stadium, what an utter mess it is, absolutely no love given to it at all.

OK, it may be a great deal for a striker who has been out since Jan, and may never come back as effective as he was (although I am tempted to trust Russell Martin's judgment on this), but...why wait until just over 24 hours until the deadline?

Southampton still have Adams, and Armstrong is knocking in goals, so why couldn't they have wrapped this up at least a week ago?

It's only a great deal if you are able to use the fee effectively. If there's no time, then you've got the money in the bank, and no one's paying to watch money in the bank.

There's no chance they'll flog him without a few coming in, not a chance.
The issue is it being the right players. We have yet to sign anyone that looks to have been an jump in improvement to our starting 11. They might spend it but I'm unsure if it will be on what we need and what mowbray would prefer.
A bit like when we sold bent all those years ago

Discounting Pickford and Henderson, if it’s £8m + £2m then it’s up there with the highest profit we’ve made on a player. Was bent bought for £10m and sold for £18m?

Can we have a petition to the FA that the transfer window closes after the schools go back?

It’s going to save all kinds of bother washing the bed sheets
It certainly should shut before the season begins, Southampton are a prefect example of that, the team they line up first game after international break will be totally different to the one that started the season at Sheffield Wednesday
