Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Absolutely love people wishing ill on a bloke who’s offered 100% for us purely because he wants a decent contract at his age. He deserves it ffs, the club unwilling to pay 25k for a player of his ability is shit man. It’s all him though, honestly man!!
I support safc and he wants to go to a club that could damage safc

simple as that Yes thanks for league one but after that he’s showed no thought of safc fans or club

Bit like the Kane situation isn't it? But Levy still managed to command a big fee. 6m is no good in the modern day market because you can't sign a player of even half of his ability for that price.
Kane wasn’t injured, is a full international and just came back from scoring 30 goals in the premier league.

Not quite the same mate.

Stewart himself cost about £150,000 and no-one knew who he was when he signed for us.

Piroe went to Swansea for £1m, Coventry signed Gyokores for £1m, Carlton Morris signed for Luton for £1.3m, Nathan Tella was signed with little to no fanfare from Arsenal's academy after flopping at a trial with Reading, Zian Flemming signed for Millwall for £1.7m.

The list goes on.

All of those players scored a significant amount of goals at this level and were signed for very manageable fees. In fact, at one point you could have had them all for the £6m you mentioned!

The thing is if Piroe was signed, on here it would have been "done nothing in the Dutch second division, 1 goal for PSV, absolute shite", Gyokores would have been "done nothing at Swansea, no league goals in 11 games at this level, shite".

I think once the structure of the deal is sorted he’ll leave, I don’t think you can complain at the price we’ll get for someone who hasn’t played in 6 month and is out of contract soon

Fucks sake, how did you manage to type such a comprehensively better reply in the time I wrote one sentence?!

Is it £8m though, I just read £6.5m? I would be hoping for £10m plus personally. His scoring rate was off the charts in those 13 games and with no time left in the window we should be driving up the price or keeping hold IMO. If they want him that much they can stump up some of their parachute money.
Exactly this. It's late for us to sell him and replace him, but it's late for them to go for someone else if they really want him as their main choice which looks the case. Squeeze every drop of Nectar out of them.

If he comes back firing as before, then we get to January and then he would have more clubs willing to go for him if he proven his fitness by then. Prem teams down the bottom could gamble on him with their extra money they all have.

It's a gamble either way

How much more do your realistically think we will get?

He has 10 months left on his deal.
Everybody knows he isn't signing.
He hasn't played for 9 months.

We aren't in a strong position

Offer him another £5k per week that his agent wants, costs us £520k for the next year, he scores goals for us and just might help us get into the top six with him in the side. He is then under contract worth at least £12m to £15m next summer if anyone wants to sign him.I will guarantee you TM would rather him stay, who do we get better than him for the money? It will be a joke if we pay Cannon what he and Everton want, but not RS!!

Exactly, this.

Same people will point to them as types of players we need to go for, oblivious to their current stance.

All bullshit and guesswork on wages and figures

By saying "I have an Achilles injury" and them replying "Okay, we'll take that into account while we check everything else". A medical isn't just the player running around the pitch banging shots at goal while a doctor stands on the sidelines nodding and writing things down on his clipboard you know.
As if the medical staff are gonna go to Russell Martin...."did his tests boss and you'll never f***ing believe it but he's knacked his achilles so we had to fail him"
