Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

10m would be good business at this point. As long as a contingency is in place this week if it goes through.

Think it'll be difficult with him being injured and in last year of contract
Replacement incoming tomorrow?

I agree.

Let's say that £10m allows us to get Cannon and Rusyn under multi year contracts and breaking even, I would take that.

Alternatively, if we sell Stewart and we get nobody at all I'll be sick.

The worry has been for a while that an offer of say £4m (plus add on) comes in on deadline day and the club accepts it.
Even if they went berserk and said 10m, if at least one, maybe two strikers weren’t brought in straight away we be effectively saying we aren’t trying this season, imagine the pressure on the 17 yr old yts lad to perform then

If there is any truth in this suspect it could happen. Everton want Adams & I reckon want to sell Cannon.

I’ll say it again.

Any club that pays a significant amount for a player coming back from an Achilles injury would be mental. Probably the most risky injury for a player in sport even above a break or cruciate.

No guarantee how he will come back. In US sport something like 1/4 players with Achilles related injuries never even return. The idea someone will pay 20 million is absurd if they have a sensible chairman and medical team.

Bojan Mivioski is the outstanding striker outside of the old firm in Scotland with Shankland not far behind we should be looking at signing Mivioski he is an upgrade on Stewart

Club wouldn't mind him going if it's good fee i suspect. Considering he will go for zilch in about 10 months.

I can’t see anyone paying ten million for Stewart, 2 bad injuries and less than a year remaining on his deal. Selling him and not having a replacement sorted would be suicide.
Usually I'd agree but £10m is kinda fuck all to Southampton at the minute, especially if Martin has Stewart as his top target.

Southampton must have received close to £100m in transfer fees this summer. Then there is the parachute payments.
