Wrestling - Part 3

I said in my post, I watch stuff when people I trust recommend it. My mate said Collision was up my alley so I watched it, and it was. The entire show start to finish was brilliant and in my opinion it was the best episode of television that AEW have ever produced.

Which is why I get so disappointed when you see stuff like that Ibushi video, or the stuff that makes it to TV like that Moxley v Ishii match the other week which is probably the worst match I’ve ever seen involving a main eventer in AEW.

The potential for AEW to be brilliant is there. They have the resources to put on shows like that Collision episode every single week. So you have to ask yourself… knowing their TV ratings are down, knowing that their live crowd ticket sales are poor at the minute, why aren’t they offering up a product more like the one we saw last Saturday more often?

As a wrestling fan it frustrates me so much.

And for balance I also don’t watch WWE unless someone recommends me something, though I make a point to watch the weekly Bloodline segments on youtube because they’re genuinely brilliant.
Look marra we all have different opinions I’ve said as much, I disagree with the Moxley stuff you’ve just mentioned for example

On the ratings they aren’t particularly down they’ve been hovering around 850k every week which is the norm, actually done 950k plus the other day but I still find it pointless to mention, Collison only gets about 570k (apart from July 4th weekend where it was a low number so gimps spunked there pants owa it) and that’s probably been the best show the past couple weeks, ticket sales were only down in two Canadian markets Saskatoon which is a tiny area which was originally a house show before Collision existed and the place they held Forbidden door and then done again immediately after.

Like I say it’s all different strokes for different folks, I literally could not care one bit about Ibushi jumping in tacks after a show though, seems pointless to get worked up over it, that’s the last I’ll mention it 😂

TBF to @coyneeee I'm miles more Cornette in my opinions than he is :). I can take the piss out of that as well, seen as @coyneeee tried to hoy me under the bus a week or so ago saying I'd said on here I didn't like LA Knight or Judgement Day, which I never did. The lying sod!

(just playing but you did post that @coyneeee all good :) )

I just say how it is man, like ya pointed out I don't post everything anti-AEW, I mean like it was only 3 weeks ago I bought an AEW product ffs :D

Some people can't take criticism and get offended like it's a religious cult. I mean here's my opinion and evidenced with facts also. AEW is doing poorly outside it's special shows and PPV's, 10k turnout and 975,000 rating for Blood and Guts is a good turnout but for the standard Dynamite shows people just aren't interested, barely getting 3k people in 15-20k arenas. And in regards to Collision, it's something the WCW have already tried and failed which led to moving to their flagship show to what was known as the Monday Night Wars with RAW - It didn't fail because it was a bad product, it failed simply because it put itself up against the NHL and NFL, Americans prefer the latter. It's like putting Man Utd v Man City up against Golf in this country, we know which one's gonna win.

I really do think they should think about moving Dynamite shows over to Europe, there seems to be alot more demand in Europe than in North America - I can see Dynamite selling out in the O2 in London, the 02 Dublin, the SSE in Glasgow, other cities like Madrid, Munich, Lisbon so it's baffles me why they haven't gone down that route already.

As much as I enjoy the Judgement Day stuff and Gunther's still great on RAW I can't sit there for 3 hours, it's just a personal battle of attrition, it feels like you're just forcing yourself to suffer.
In regards to Smackdown the LA Knight and Bloodline stuff is self-explanatory really. Breaking Smackdown records for their segments.
NXT is on a serious resurgence also, Shawn Michaels might be in line for booker of the year because of it, forget Tony Khan or Triple H, Shawn's a dark horse in this race... Bringing in the Judgement Day and having Dom act as a shit weasel who's getting away with it has got people tuning in. I still don't understand the rest of what's going on however, the product is very raw and there's alot of shit which is like trying to solve a rubix cube if you're a newer viewer other than they're bringing back Lone Wolf Baron Corbin.
.
I forgot to add on the RAW part, I've never been more disinterested in Ronda Rousey in all my life, she can't act, she's piss poor on the mic and she hasn't significantly improved or anything, she's just there.

Havent seen any of it yet but I'm seeing they put Santos vs. Rey next week?

Yeah. They had Santos win the fatal 4 way. I did say I wouldn't be shocked if they gave him the MITB briefcase as they're pushing the Lucha's lately but this is shit booking. It's nothing to be excited about if you're non-South American.

How are we seeing this LA knight situation play out? I’m incredibly engrossed and feel a real sense of injustice for him.
I can't work out what they're doing or have planned for him. I think at this point they send him out to appease the fans and probably don't have great intention for him? Seems that way. It's an odd one.

Was Daniel Bryan the only WWE wrestler in the last 15 years the fans gravitated towards that they actually yielded to and eventually put over and kept him there or abouts? (albeit when he wasn't retired).
What a shambles that Smackdown was
Watched most of it now and aye. Very deflating all that mind... Although I like Asuka dancing about like a pissed Auntie.

Seen a video on twitter of them filming him after the match, camera man giving him directions etc so here’s hoping they’ve got plans.

Got to trust HHH when he said his time will come. Just hope he doesn’t lose momentum.
Can’t see where he goes tbh, unless they put him against Gunther.

It feels like they're at the edge of losing the crowd with him/the situation. There's still time, but SummerSlam will be the final nail in the coffin for many I feel. YEAAHHH

Maybe they'll do a replacement angle with Rey? He gets injured and Knight somehow replaces him? It's a bit clunky and makes Knight look heelish but I can't think of owt else 😂.

They can’t book him as a heel I don’t think as I don’t think the fans will allow it. Doesn’t make sense as he’s getting face reactions.

Either way they’re teetering on the edge of colossally f***ing this up.
He’s the top merch seller ffs

Agreed but I can't think of owt else. Have to wait and see I guess, does seem like it's gone in a direction no one wanted.
