Bid rejected for Clarke

im sure its definitely not a secret within the game..... are you struggling with the fact that there may may be an alternative explination to your own? Im prepared to admit the plausibilty of both our points of view i feel on the balance of probabilities mine is the more valid....it is however much less conspiritorial than yours....do you like conspiracies? This isnt an unreasonable question btw(given their abundance) but it will enable me to know better who im debating with moving forward
He's struggling with anything that doesn't fit his preconceptions.

Feel like the only way Burnley could afford him is if they used someone like Scott Twine in the deal. They're not going to offer £20m and I can't see us accepting anything less than £20m, but offering a suitable replacement with the money wouldn't go a miss

Nice try from them.

“It’s too much. Sunderland should be snapping our hands off for that.”

Fuck right off.
   I genuinely don't understand what year some people think it is. Some still talk about transfer values like we're still in the 90's. Clarke is going to piss the Championship again this season, and we'll be passing Burnley on our way up.

I asked him a question and he ignored it and disappeared so I'll ask you.

How are these reported bids getting out? Who is telling local and national media outlets about them? Neither club has commented.

Burnley will absolutely be getting encouragement to bid. Whether that from clarkes agent to use it as leverage for a new deal or whatever.

Unfortunately I suspect it is this. Always in the agents interest to get a new deal wither at the current club or as a result of a move, even if it isn’t necessarily in the player’s best interest.

what a crock of shit.

Burnley, get a friendly reporter involved, its quite simple, obviously not for you
People getting angry about it

All I've said is they'll be getting encouragement from somewhere and won't be bidding multiple times for no reason. I haven't said Clarke will go because I don't think he will.

Bunch of precious fannies on here at times

Potentially.

They may just be constantly bidding for him in an attempt to unsettle the player, so they can get a young player in cheaper than our asking price.

They might be assuming that because they’re in the premier league that young players will want to jump at the chance to go there.

But after weeks of this clarkes agent could easily say no hes not interested. They won't spend 6 weeks bidding and finally agree a few for Clarke to say 'nah I'm alright'. If a bid is accepted then he will go.

I dont think he will leave though. I don't think Burnley will pay what we want and I think the agent will use these bids to say if we reject 15m quid then Clarke should be paid like a £15m player on a new deal.

What tells you they are getting encouragement, precious fanny?

Well, yeah. If a bid is accepted then he will go - it’s very rare in football that when a bid is accepted the player and/or agent turn around and go ‘no, not interested.’

I suppose it depends what you class as encouragement, I thought you meant the agent or Clarke were asking Burnley to keep bidding and we’d accept - which makes it look like they want to leave. That’s what I don’t agree with (if that’s what you meant as encouragement).

If you just meant that Clarke and his agent aren’t telling Burnley to bugger off and are just silently getting on with it, then I agree.
