It was evident in the documentary that he was revelling in the fame and the initial warmth of the fans.
I personally think he's a full blown narcissist and I feel very sorry for Charlton. A decent club with decent fans, even if they always beat us!

People have a total misconception about the owners and directors test. It simply checks on whether any of a limited number of criminal offences (all fraud or piracy related), or whether the candidate is involved on any current insolvency proceeding, or whether they have ever been involved in football insolvency. That's it. Business acumen (except where insolvency has resulted) is not tested.

what he did at SAFC was buy a club and get a condsortium of billionaires to fund it...charlton would love the same to happen to them..
donmald i doubt m,ade any money. he didnt actually get the sale price from selling his shares to KLD..it went back to repay a loan the club got from the yanks....methven may have done..but is weaslthy anyway..has quite a substantial business now

Didn't they do that at SAFC as such, but we don't love them, the way you say Charlton fans will. Maybe it was because of the lies, the patronising words and the total mistrust of them.

Donald obviously held on to the end to see if we went up before selling ("When I know I'm not wanted I'll leave"...Bullshit) Methan was worth a lot less apparently, and must be the worst PR man ever. He couldn't have kept saying the wrong things to help public relations, if he did it on purpose.
Wealthy in what sort of range? @kildaremackem He came in to SAFC and didn't invest anything I thought we heard, but he was given them shares (Was it 7%) as part of him helping. Now he is investing in a club, suggests he has gained some money from somewhere, and I'm pretty certain it would be money from my club, rather than his PR skills work on the side

methvens main business isnt PR..he is a hotelier..though he does or did have a PR and marketing operation for a while...
jhow do you know he has money? maybe he is getting the shares free for putting the deal together as some say he did at SAFC?
And if he did sell his shares for money..its not from "your club" ..the shares he got werent free..they were paid for by someone..ie donald..so if methven got free shares..donald paid for them..the club doesnt lose out from that...
it doesnt own its own ground or training ground is why its cheap/..
