As there is no obvious replacement spinner, I'd go with another seamer. Potts is in good form and fit so would be my choice, particularly as there are so many question marks over Anderson and Stokes fitness.

Crawley is playing test cricket for England until either death or amputationIt's a nightmare, like, but compounded by Stokes' injury, if he can't bowl they'll need another seamer and probably an all rounder spinner with Crawley missing out. Brook or Stokes to open, maybe. Dawson, Livingstone or Ahmed to share spinner duties with Root. Mind, Rob 'Canterbury' Key may not see it that way![]()

I’m slightly worried now if it does and being up in courtWell I'm sure that can be arranged.
Not for me, he really struggled against Australia 4 years ago was out bowled by Leach. Don’t think he’ll be any betterRead a few journo pieces, the thought of Mo Ali is a romantic idea mind, a few suggesting England play 4 seamers first test, then could bring him in after
He is well past his best, but he has so much ability, you wonder if he could have one last hurrah, batting and bowling.
I think if he can't, and we want to play spinner, then my choice is Dawson.
I’d be surprised if he wasn’tIf considered fit will Wood be starting?
@MustardAndOnions would put his own windows outCould have been worse, it might have been Crawley, then where would we be.
