A recognised and convicted cheat being the only thing saving Test cricket from oblivion. Let's just give up and call it football eh

I didnt say that, but rivalries are important in cricket, you want to beat the best in the ashes, thats what makes it such a great series.

Sorry lik,e you are allowed your opinion, but it is an extremely strange one.

so so naive mind

So you wish Smith was not in the ashes? thats utterly baffling that like.
BTW, its a seperate point

but if you think Lara would exist in the current climate as a test great then you are naive

He'd not even be playing test cricket

I'm not. I've watched cricket for 45 years, I've got every Wisden back to 1930 ish and many prior to that. Cricket in India will be fine without Kohli (and better for it)

Nah, cricket is about the best players in the world, I don't like Kohli but it makes beating them even more sweeter

its international sport, not village cricket.

take that rivalry away and its pretty meaningless
btw nobody gets more wound up by the way Kohli goes on and India in general, in India, I hate it, but I don't want them to retire

Watching Bairstow and Root knock off our highest ever run chase last year against them was even more magic because of it.

Pretty sure test cricket was around for a few years before Smith, Kohli and Warner, if they retired tomorrow it would still continue

Kolhi has been vital for Indian's popularity with test cricket like, thats my point

And why those posters wouldnt want to see them play england I have no idea.

test cricket is in trouble like, I dont think people on this forum seem to realise its, its huge in england, but its absolutely vital that India keep their passion for it,

as the IPL expands to 10 weeks this year, and that will keep going and going, that is not a guarantee like.

The Indians are fanatics, when Kohli retires there'll be a new "king" to entertain them.

Absolutely 100%, but its not guaranteed that as the IPL gets bigger n bigger that cricketers coming through see test cricket as the end goal.

its like the premier league over there, and they are only just getting started

Definitely on the slide for a while

I just can’t ever justify being nice towards him, with his on field behaviour . That press conference he did after the cheating was truly pathetic and no contrition at all. He said he would answer questions, then he answered none but read a piece of paper in front of him . This was in those days of pre hetton as I think it’s still on the forum deep down the pages though

in fact , good riddance
I was in Australia at xmas and the press was all about how his wife felt he hadnt been given any support. For being a cheating bastard????

Aye, they love Smith though over there though, who was heavily involved, I think Warner wasnt liked before sandpaper gate though really.

they all knew mind and had been doing it for ages, its partly why they are keeping him around as long as possible.

I cant stand Smith, slimy bastard, he is still their captain, its so obvious

Aye, that team under him were so badly behaved like, the sand paper thing doesnt bother me actualy, it was almost comical

but there was a long build up to that point with a team way out of control.

Its funny though as the Aussies do like that, and every time they lose a game, and they dont lose many, the public and ex players say its as they are "too soft"

weird cricket culture

I like Cummins n the like though, good blokes.
