Kilkerran £95 for 35cl?The SB festival bottle is a bit pricey though it is a 24yo. All 35cl bottles.
Springbank - £200
Longrow - £35
Hazelburn - £40
Kilkerran - £95
Agreed, Edrington blends are generally very decent.

That’s what I’ve been told. Haven’t heard much about the bottle other than the priceKilkerran £95 for 35cl?
It's a 16 (or 17yo) triple distilled I think. Seems a fair jump from £90 last year for 70clThat’s what I’ve been told. Haven’t heard much about the bottle other than the price
It’s a duh moment for me. I posted a pic of the bottle a few days ago. It’s a 70cl bottleIt's a 16 (or 17yo) triple distilled I think. Seems a fair jump from £90 last year for 70cl
I like the sound of that SB but not parting with £200 for a 35cl. HB + the 2 from Cadenhead's if I can be arsed to ride down. Might just wait until the Friday as I'm down then anyway
I didn't bother going down, will be tomorrow like, you about?I suspect the SB 24yo Festival bottle will still be available to buy post festival. It’s not terrible but there’s some soapiness on the finish. I certainly won’t be buying more than one. The Longrow and Hazelburn are good though.
Good to hear I bagged two.Just opened that Whisky Barrel 15 year old Highland Park…well worth the £55 ( noticed now £90) as @shakerman suggested possibly misspriced ?
Looking at their site and a few of their WB exclusives seem worth a look
Not amazing, but certainly given a 15 yr old cask strength HP good valueGood to hear I bagged two.
I'll get one uncorked when a slot on the opened shelf comes up.
Definitely, excellent valueNot amazing, but certainly given a 15 yr old cask strength HP good value![]()
I’m in and out of tastings all day bud. I’m also having dinner with some of the guys behind WhiskyNerds before they fly back to the Netherlands.I didn't bother going down, will be tomorrow like, you about?
It’s something they regularly do. As the stock dwindles the price swiftly escalates.Just opened that Whisky Barrel 15 year old Highland Park…well worth the £55 ( noticed now £90) as @shakerman suggested possibly misspriced ?

I'm a bit of an amateur peaty whisky lover but not really stepped outside the mainstream - probably due to being tight.I suspect the SB 24yo Festival bottle will still be available to buy post festival. It’s difficult to get hold of most Springbank releases except Kilkerran 12 which is certainly some worth trying. Ledaig, Ballechin, Ardmore, Ruadh Mhor and most Islay whiskies are all worth a try.I'm a bit of an amateur peaty whisky lover but not really stepped outside the mainstream - probably due to being tight.
Is the Longrow recommended as a standard bottle or any special edition?
I've just finished a bottle of Ardmore and enjoyed it.It’s difficult to get hold of most Springbank releases except Kilkerran 12 which is certainly some worth trying. Ledaig, Ballechin, Ardmore, Ruadh Mhor and most Islay whiskies are all worth a try.
Most of the The English Whisky Co releases are peated too and worth exploring. Alternatively some blends such as Big Peat and Smokehead can be very decent.
I promised myself I’d spend more modestly at this years festival. I evidently lied.
