Australia Ashes Squad Announced

Striker
Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Todd Murphy, Matthew Renshaw, Steve Smith (vc), Mitchell Starc, David Warner

I don't think we should be going for flat pitches like Ben wants. This batting line up would relish them as much as we would surely. Nee way Warner and head get any runs if it's nipping about.

2 Yorkshire men in the squad what a disgrace they are @Silly Point

Both emigrated to Australia after the 2005 Ashes series they'd have been 9 and 10 watching it. They moved aged 10 and 14.

I was 12 watching that series nee way if I'd moved their and got good enough at cricket I'd have been anything but an England player.

Agreed. I think if they’d moved there as young kids then fair enough but especially by the age of 14 you’d imagine they’d have been supporting England for a good few years and certainly feel English.

Could be interesting if they play at Headingley and get stuck out in front of the WT!

No Kuhnemann champion!
Yeah he looked excellent last week, and No disrespect to Borthwick or Trevaskis but he looks miles above them,

got some spin options in T20 now too, Trev, Sowter, Borthwick and Kuhenmann, with a Ground as big as Durhams im surprised weve not gone that route a little more often

There were rumours he could be. I presume there’s still a chance he could brought into the fold during the summer if he’s performing well?

Might also depend on Murphy’s fitness?

Mind, I’d expect they’d take notice of him taking a 5fer at the Riverside in April.

The england team would have looked very different over the years if you were only allowed to play for the county of your birth 😉

Bit late in catching up with this but surprised how few pace bowlers they have in the squad. Hazelwood has had an injury or two recently and there's just Boland in the squad as back up to the main 3.
Saddle and Neser in CC as potential replacements if needed?🤷‍♂️

Sean Abbott over here too.

I thought they had Morris who was in the squad in India but he's got injured before getting a chance to play for Northants.

So definitely a bit short sighted, hopefully blows up in their face after Hazlewood pulls up on the morning of the first test.

Labuschagne and Khawajah born outside Australia as well. Gone quiet on the foreign mercenary 'banter'.
