this year’s C2C - 2023

If the place is still going I think I would be up for it, I've always fancied it and i've been getting something that is apparently called a gravel bike which hasn't seen much action yet.

Not sure about my athletic ability but I can usually huff and puff my may through so I suspect I could keep up. Would give me some motivation to do a bit of training before hand.

Can you send any details on the finer points?

Sounds like the ideal bike for this ride. Most of it is on country lanes or dedicated tracks.

It’s my dedication to duty. I also ride really slow to act as the sweeper van. Mainly cos the real sweeper van is being summoned to the front to serve the entitled roadies bananas and caviar.
I usually don't see the van most of the day while he's waiting for you to finish fixing your bike after you stack it or for wingus and dingus to do an impromptu tour of the lakes. Caviar sounds good but only if we have some Beaujolais to go with it.

I'm looking forward to it and bricking it in equal measure.

My Mrs thinks I'm mad agreeing to go on a cross country bike ride with a load of people off the Internet I've never met before, she said it's like the opening scenes of a serial killer movie where you sit there and say "like anyone would do that in real life".

Off out for a good long ride out on Saturday to see what I'm up against in terms of fitness, good excuse to swerve Charlie's new hat ceremony.

Sounds good....so how many is on this trip ?.. im not competitive by any means but dont want to be lagging behind either so ive Just started a wee bit of training..25k yesterday and just about to get ready and do a lap of windermere tonight...thats the lake not the town..need to shed a few kilos
Km? Kilos? Are you foreign? Hopefully there will be about 15, ranging from the racing snakes to the layabouts. Cunningly, we have numerous pub stops which allow everyone to catch up.

Tbf we’ve been doing it since 2008 and it’s been well documented on here, so it’s hardly a bunch of fly by nights.

There's only one serial killer so your odds are pretty good.
