Potter

A few clubs have developed a rep that means managerial failure isn’t considered a blot on a managers rep. Spurs, Chelsea, Watford, Sunderland etc.
At Brighton it seems that it’s the system that brings success not the man picking the team.
And the £400 million their owner has put into the club.

Why do football managers get their contract paid up if they’re sacked ?

Is there any other industry this happens? Why get rewarded for poor performance ?

Be intersting to see how they manage the FFP rules now, given they spent half a billion quid on players in one window, and have now paid off an expensive managers contract, and presumably some of his staff as well and they are not even in the top half of the league so will not even be in Europe next seaon unless they win the Champons League.

Imagine spending £500m quid and then seeing your income reduced significantly by missing out on Europe completely?

Was never going to work out there best finish in the PL 9th ffs and that got him the Chelsea job

Over £11m a year apparently.

Although money isn’t the only reason that this is a daft one.

Not being funny but being sacked as an utter failure from a job that pays £11m a year and for which you then get compensation, would be the happiest day of my life.
Is this a serious post? Are you on drugs man?

If it's true that he was on £11m a year then his pay off for his 5 YEAR contract, that has 4 and half years left to run, would see him walking away with £49.5m before tax tonight. That is more than our whole annual budget. Why the hell would he bother with us?

Clearly none of us know what's in his contract, but lets be certain that he won't be leaving Chelsea with a minimum redunancy payment.

To be honest, if I were in his shoes and now had that level of financial security, I would be looking at something that interested me rather than what paid the most. In my case that would be traveling round the world in a camper van watching random football matches:lol:

Mental that they sacked tuchel to appoint potter
You love Tuchel like his style of football was so bad at Chelsea just because they made a mistake appointing Potter doesn’t mean Tuchel shouldn’t have been sacked

Will do well at Bayern like who doesn’t
