Jack Ross

Nice fella I really liked him and wanted him with us for years. His stock was high when he came in and he give it a go. I wonder how he would have done with KLD at the helm. By all accounts his family have settled in the region so good for him that he can find employment in football that works for him and his family.
I think he’d have been the same with KLD, absolutely shite.

Went to pot after the Coventry home game, had ample opportunity to get us promoted in the top two, bottled it, then bottled the play offs.

Hope it’s a step back on his preferred career path, doubt he will be instrumental in any success that lot have.

Jack Ross’ Sunderland sides scored 3 goals at Wembley stadium.
No man alive has managed Newcastle in a game in which they’ve scored at Wembley
Stadium.
Don’t think scoring goals at Wembley is a good yardstick for how good a manager is mind.

I’d actually say the Barnsley game at home, 3-0 then they pulled two back, that’s when I really noticed he’d changed.

Exactly that.
Got to be a massive career comedown for him mind? Going from being a manager (pre 2018 quite a highly rated one) to an interim academy coach? What does he do after this?
God knows. Further down the ladder somewhere? As we know the manager merry go round is mental so impossible to tell! Look at Murty, manager of Rangers to our Academy and then heavily linked with the Oxford job. So there’s always somebody desperate enough to take the risk.

I remember asking while we were 2nd in league one in our 1st season where we were in Jack Ross’ trajectory as a manager.
