Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Asking people to pay best part of £500 and Then don’t know if they’ve can use it.

I appreciate I care about this issue and perhaps have gone a little over the top as I never thought I would have to give my season ticket up.

What I really worry about is people will just vote with their feet and not renew.

Where I live and blood money we can not be placing a barrier to anyone for attending games.

Some of our supporters need to show some empathy and understanding to some of their fellow supporters.

This is a massive balls up by the club. Nobody is taking any pleasure in criticising the club but they need to backtrack and be caring and inclusive to many in our fan base.
The club should have been clear and concise and offer supporters the choice of Digital or Card. They do this already when ordering match tickets…

The kick back on this from people that have the capability of loading the app and using the app on their current device is pathetic and takes away from people that genuinely can't access the technology.

I sometimes go out without my phone so the club can fuck off or I don't have any space for ANOTHER app on my state of the art phone should not be taken as acceptable excuses. Folk whinging for the sake of whinging. Download the app, download the ticket, scan in and stop going on pathetic.

😂😂 Unbelievable.

It's something new so 68% are booting off for no reason

Have you considered they may be "booting off " on behalf of people who cant use it? Probably not, you used to work for the club didnt you?

Can't agree at all. We said there would be an option for people who can't use a digital ticket. The club have now said, both in the minutes and in the latest media release, that there will be an option for people who can't use a digital ticket.

I agree it's vague and they need to get more information out, I agree that people shouldn't have to rely on a carer getting them in the ground. But if anyone goes to the club and says "I can't use a digital ticket and I don't want to hang to rely on anyone else getting me in" then the club have confirmed that they'll have a solution for it. They've committed to no fan being excluded. Which is exactly what I, and others, said.
Have you seen how the ticket office works now?

They have bare minimum staff. It’s a recipe for disaster and asking people to pull out in my case £500 when I don’t know what service I’ll be getting.

If this goes though people will walk with their feet. You lads do a great job representing us and I appreciate the work you put in but you really have to let the club know how much of a mess this new system is.
Yes I can and it’s pretty much just as simple/quick, but every time I’ve answered you’ve dismissed it as waffle or disrespectful. The truth is you don’t want to hear it and you’re being deliberately obtuse.
If you would rather miss the match than go to a tiny amount of effort then fair enough.
You have a lot to say when anyone dares criticise the club. Show some empathy and understanding for supporters who are not tech savvy is not to much to ask.

I know, fuck knows why they’ve not put it in.

I was only saying it because someone has accused me of talking shit.

The accusation was that the pair of you were suggesting that there's be some kind of back track/ explanation this week. What we've actually got doesn't answer anything & is more of a double down than u-turn.

I never said that. I simply said that a physical card would be available, which is confirmed by the minutes.

Well that’s not what has been ‘communicated’ by the club over the past couple of days what I can see.

I appreciate the job you lads do and fair play to yous.

However, this is a massive cock up by the club and I do hope the reps are going to let the club know.

I have probably said enough. If it doesn’t get sorted a all I can say is my car load of supporters will not be attending next season and once people stop attending it’s difficult to get them back.

To be fair, the release says

"The Club is also conscious that some digital season ticket holders may not have access to a smart device (smartphone or smartwatch) and we will work with you to provide a solution on a case-by-case basis to ensure no supporter is excluded from the 2023-24 renewal or purchase process."

Which is fairly clear in that no one will be excluded. Agree that they could be a bit clearer in the process (presumably they hope most will just go digital first), but both that paragraph and the bit from the minutes clearly shows that the fans groups reps weren't talking shite when saying there would be an option for those who couldn't use digital tickets
Depends what the option is though.
Having to meet some one to let you in, or pick something up from the ticket office on a game by game basis isn't the same as being given your own card. How can you renew without being told the option (which is what is being asked)?

Which is pretty vague. It also mentions about those who don't have one to lose their independence & be signed in by a friend (or maybe a carer:rolleyes:) who does have one. Which means they're going to spend ages arguing the toss to try & avoid giving people a physical card. Which isn't quite the same as saying there'll be a physical option for those who need them. So it's aye, it was a load of shite to say dinit worry about it.....
Exactly. If they're unwilling to give cards to disabled people and young kids, telling them to just get scanned in by your carer, then why would they give cards to others. If I was having to scan 4 other people in, all of which were unable to attend the match without my phone, I'd be pissed off if the club were giving physical cards to others. Likewise to a lesser degree, if I'd have preferred a card but had to use my phone, but the club was still dishing out tickets.

What a mess, if these digital tickets were any good they wouldn't need to scam their supporters into having them.

This, I think I prefer the card in my phone but this is going to cause older fans stress for no reason, the speed thing is absolutely bollocks as is the waste as it's actually making waste if your already a season card holder. Think of other people now and then.

In an attempt to hopefully relax some stress over the options, my take on it having read both the FAQs and the meeting minutes is this.

Ideally everyone will take up the digital ticket option as this is the clubs preferred way

IF you can't take up the option for valid reasons then a physical option will be available, which i presume will be a card.

Why the club can't just announce it as that, is beyond me
Chaos by the sounds of things

Palace charging by the game for fans to transfer tickets to friends

Starting to make sense now.
This really needs protesting. What a con.
Guarenteed the bit in bold will be coming in

Which I presume - so no evidence of that. This is disgusting, if they don't give quick clarification that's me done frankly.

Be interesting to hear from Leeds, Brighton and Spurs Fans what happened to their fans who did not have smart phones when they went digital and their option was to contact the club.

To be fair, the minutes from the meeting I was at make it fairly clear what the option is (or what it should be if they stick to their word)

"SD confirmed a physical season ticket will still be available if fans are unable to access a digital season ticket. The arrangements for this will be announced nearer the time."

Fully understand that the communication has been awful, and we'll be letting the club know this, but at the meeting we were told there would be a physical season ticket for those who can't go digital, we communicated that on here when fans were concerned, the minutes came out and confirmed exactly what we said, and apparently we're talking shite! Appreciate it's an emotive subject for many mind

Digit season ticket is fine for me and will be for most I know going to the game.
What I can’t understand is why they could have just said something along these lines:

“A physical season card will continue to be available for u12s, over 65, and registered disabled supporters free of charge, but we would encourage all of those who can, to make the switch to digital.”
