Striker situation

Has it come to this that you can't discuss the game and where we had issues without people jumping on it as being negative / speakman out etc?

We clearly lack a focal point up front, Gelhardt struggled a lot today that affected our balance are we not allowed to say that?

I'm frustrated we took Michut and Gelhardt off, moved Amed up front and put Pritchard on as Michut was playing really well. Is that negative / slagging speakman off or an opinion?

Well you clearly have. This squad is a top 6 squad and has proven it, but its had horrendous bad luck with injuries and it costs us.

My 'gutting' post is because I think it will knack us and is affecting amad hugely. It was nowt to do with recruitment or speakman etc, they're excellent.

This. I'm not even talking about not signing a striker on deadline day...

I'm talking about losing Simms and stewart the way we did and it potentially costing us and its gutting.

People have gone well overboard

Gelhardt struggled to get into the game today, we struggled to keep the ball and didn't have a presence in the box.

If it can't be mentioned without people assuming it's a dig at recruitment or Speakman then I don't know how the game can be discussed

Gelhardt is a good player. Hes just not a lone striker

Not a bellend now, just think they've got worse and it may be the level we are now playing at.

If you look at his play then it's been half decent, but he doesn't look a natural finisher or forward and over the last few games whilst he's gone close he should have had at least two, maybe three.

He's only here till the end of the season, he needs to do it to click pretty soon. I think we're probably going to have to adjust like against QPR to give him more support.

It’s just a dull discussion. There’s nowt else to add. Everyone accepts we are short it’s just whether you are outraged or philosophical. We have 7 points from the last 9 and everytime we don’t get 3 points is there really going to be a thread like this? We are short up front, our star striker got injured more or less on deadline day and we didn’t get a ‘Brian Deane’ type in. It may well cost us in the same way the very many utterly brilliant signings they have made have got us where we are.

I agree with this and meant the thread as saying im gutted and we have been unlucky.

Certainly not about the speakman and signing one a glee.
