Sunderland music thread

Chris Difford and the Lake Poets superb at the Fire Station.

Brilliant craic from Difford.

I think I'll go and see the Hope City Rockers at Victors tomorrow I doubt I'll make the Blue Diamond gig at The Gunners sadly.

What a great room! Excellent sound system, good atmosphere - it was chocka - and mad drinks prices. No ale but I can drink Caffreys when it's £2.20 a pint, and Double Maxim @ £3.25 a bottle.

Was that the upstairs room?

The Samson smooth is nice in there too.

Hope City Rockers were class in Victors yesterday also.

Slamon D and Codebreak on at the Museum at 14:00 this afternoon.

@mux
Museum Vaults that is!
Two weeks off for us. My birthday next weekend.

Went to Independent on Friday night for their first 'Circuit' night.

Phil Madeley headlining with Chloe Gardner and Post Rome supporting.

Have to say Post Rome stole the show for me. What a band. That's not to say Chloe and also Phil Madeley weren't good, they were great.

Was about half full. Good to see at least half the crowd were young people, I mean 18, 19, 20 which is a good sign. Would love to see these kind of nights full at Indie every week. They get some tremendous artists on. For those people who want to be able to say "I seen them before they were famous" then Independent is the place you want to be frequenting.

Anyway as a result of that gig, next Friday I'm going to World Headquarters in Newcastle to see Post Rome again, this time supporting Milk who are a tremendous up and coming band that I've wanted to see live for a while.

Lots happening up here at the minute with music. We need more @Kingdom Bhoy types to brilliantly promote all this to people who might not normally go.

Sharon Shannon at the Fire Station on Sunday night was a cracking gig. She's absolutely brilliant on the old squeze box and was great when she got the tin whistle out too. Accompanied by two brilliant guitarists.
Turned out I was sat next to @Kingdom Bhoy too.

Absolute quality gig.

Good to see you Bob and Mrs Fleming also good craic with the two excellent guitarists Jim Murray and Jack Maher in the Dun Cow post gig.

Speaking of the Dun Cow they have a buskers night there this evening.

I fancy the High Kings gig at the Fire Station in June you up for it?

I was just looking at that and yeah fancied it but I'm at Mighty Dub Fest that weekend and would be too much of a stretch to make it out after getting back I think. But I'll speak to the boss.
