Forthcoming gigs.

I noticed bands aren't anywhere as loud as they used to be and I mentioned it to my mate who works in environmental health etc. Apparently its to do with something like the 'noise at work' act (I cant remember its proper name!)
Essentially people who work at gigs, roadies, bar staff etc have a right to be protected.
I personally think its much better, seen too many bands loud for loud sake.
I was at PopRecs for LIFE last week and it was immense but made my ears hurt in a way I haven't experienced often. Louder than any gig I've been to in the last couple of years IMO, and I've been to some loud ones. Took a couple of days for my ears to recover to normal-ish and hoping there isn't any permanent damage. Weirdly, however, the others I was with didn't seem to suffer as much. Maybe my ears are fucked now. I certainly regretted not bringing ear plugs.

Maybe certain frequencies
I'd move and see if it improves

I was there mate & wouldn’t say the volume was any louder than any other gig I’ve been to lately.

One thing I did note at the last gigs at both Fire Station and Independent is that for quite a number of songs the instruments were too loud in relation to the singer. Levels weren't quite right.

Pretenders tonight at The Cluny were outstanding. Played very few of the hits as promised but tons of album tracks. Great night for the fans. Chrissie Hynde`s voice was absolutely wonderful. Can`t believe she`s 71.
was that you did the review i read in the northern echo today?

just got tickets for new model army at holmfirth picturedrome. cracking venue. they're on at some festival in blackpool the day after and tempted to do both.

Looking forward to my next gig as it’s a return to the Academy in Newcastle.
Great venue, loads of good memories.
The band is Inhaler, son of Bono but I won’t hold that against him 😂

Went to You Me At 6 on Tuesday night. Fuck me they were tremendous.
Waterparks also excellent and surprised to see them supporting

I saw them at Lafayette in London the following night. Chrissie's vocals are pretty much the same and the band has a brutal energy which clearly inspires her. James Walbourne on guitar lives every beat of the music and is a fantastic guitarist. I last saw The Pretenders 39 years ago, Tuesday was better. Going to see His Lordship, guitar, bass and drums of Pretenders line up, at the same venue in April.

Got tickets for Gary Numan’s 999th show at the Electric Ballroom Camden in April. Looks an interesting venue.
Can't believe he booked such a small venue, ridiculous 1500 capacity a night
And not going few dates around the country ,very poor + it would've cost me about £300 train hotels etc
