Spot on. It’s all daft really and can affect peoples lives, family, friends, careers etc..
What happened though, rightly or wrongly, is that frisk has been part of youth culture through Teddy Boys, Mods, Skins, Suedeheads, Smoothies, Punks and Casuals.

The thing is travelling away in the 70’s and 80’s in particular was that, in certain circumstances you had to be prepared to stand your ground or potentially get pummelled. On many occasions you’d arrive by train for an away match st certain places and a reception committee was waiting for you. Stuff could go on all day.
London away matches and various clubs in the capital would join together and even come down to St Pancras where the Sunderland coaches were at to say goodbye at bloody midnight!

You had a bond with people you travelled with and many of these lads still travel away together to this day.
 
The big difference between these lads nowadays & lads of a similar age 30 years ago is technology.

They’ll not be around long enough to grow into anything cos the coppers will have them on bans the moment they do anything of note.

Happened in 2013 with the last lot of younguns.

I remember it well mate, boys will be boys and still at 64 i can feel the tribalism rise, it was exciting and terrifying at the same time .
I just dont want the game bairns bigged up into biting off more than they can chew or the hangers on hitting soft targets.

It’s their futures I worry about the most. As you say, boys will be boys, many are going through lots of changes in their lives.

Boro have never done anything of note at Sunderland and for years never even turned up. Last few times they’ve had police protection and allocated pubs.

Back in the day Sunderland generally ran riot down there but latterly with CCTV and such like it’s different. Have to laugh at all this Front Line bollox. Couldn’t touch Vauxies or Seaburn or the general SAFC support.

About 40 turned up at jamesons 2016 a few years ago, more than the mags have done in 30 years
 
Theres a dozen or so sit near us oldies at back of East Stand in the restricted view seats. Those seats dont sell and usually not for sale due to view.
Heard them saying about going to station and have a scrap. Should we be telling the stewards to check their seats tickets and get them moved or will that just cause more bother to us and our 8 year old grand kids?? Most had burbery scarfs on and some wore over ther faces during the game.

Was a funny one that. They’d been in that bar at park lane (fusion it was callled? Opposite legacy?) and the police marched them round to Jamesons, only for it to be full of Sunderland fans. Glasses and tables went flying.

I remember hearing them kicking off with the police saying they’d been set up😂
