Well it’s both. I haven’t argued otherwise.
and tbh I dont think the sort of improvements many people are mentioning on this thread would cost anything much..not enough to move the dial in terms of impacting the league rules. I just think one of the issues is, the off field people at a football club..are attracted to the glamopur of football etc.
not the boring old jobs..even if they are employed to do the boring old jobs

I think I’m in a decent position to give an opinion as this season is the first in 5 I’ve been down. Long story short used to go with me dad but he has dementia now. So started re going with me eldest who has shown an interest .

It’s very shabby now .

Unfortunately KLD has inherited 15 years of neglect. Probably close to 20.
Certainly true, but KLD has done little to nothing to reverse the neglect in the near two years he's been in control. I've always felt it's a negative sign about his long-term intentions.

For all their faults, at least Donald and Methven tried to improve the customer experience (seats, fan zone, run out music, concerts) which is what any rational person would do if they bought an underachieving business.

He’s sorted the pitch. That’s far more important than the “customer experience”.

We had 3 concerts this year , the fan zone was massively under used and moved to the beacon.

The run out music was changed back due to fan feedback.

Not sure many people would put the pitch ahead of their personal comfort or safety.

The pitch upgrade was an essential footballing improvement, like buying a player or expanding the recruitment team. KLD has definitely had impact in that sense. Why would he not follow the same upgrade strategy across the board?

It’s these things that I think billionaire and multi multi millionaire owners should be taking care of and as swiftly as possible. I understand the sustainability argument and the desire not to blow club income on inflated salaries and fees but if the ownership group haven’t got the desire or funds to make significant infrastructure improvements and make the club better through their own capital, what exactly do they want the club for?

It still takes time to implement, these things aren't done overnight. League One, COVID and KLD and Sartori taking ownership less than 2 year ago are all valid reasons for things taking their time.

The club has plans for a sustainable future, but that in itself is probably way down the line. It'll still be making a sizable loss now which KLD will have to fund. Its not like he won't be putting fuck all in mate.

So you want us to waste money on a fan zone that previously didn’t work , the concerts are back and since KLD came in we have booked 5
well it mjst have been hard to grow the concerts business during the preiod of lockdowns and bans on global events.
And as there were zero concerts under short ata the end, it was always going to take time to attract acts back..thats now happening

It would be a start if local dog walkers picked their dogs shit up which is all around the stadium near the turnstiles.

Also, the block paving especially the East Stand, are covered in stains (vomit and spilt drink) from the summer concerts. A karcher wouldn't go amiss. Clearing the weeds would also help.

A lick of paint and new signage anarl 👍

Some things very easily could be.

All things, along with pressure washing the exterior that existing club staff could do without huge outlay. This little old Sunderland, we can't expect a clean safe ground shite from some needs to be put to bed.
