Easy to say with hindsight. He's penalty taker for club and country, to imagine anyone else taking it is, to be blunt, stupid.

There’s something definitely wrong with English approaches to penalties. We seem to place more emphasis on “who has the balls” as opposed to who can mentally cope. Personally, I would have had someone else take the second - Difficult I know if Kane wants it.

Yeah he’s at least got to hit the target, as you say it’s top level sport and he missed by a mile, however he’s been brilliant for England so hopefully he comes back stronger, feels like a missed opportunity to really win this World Cup

Same for me here, for a top class striker to not hit the target is criminal. I said at the time it should be another player taken it as I think with facing his team mate put more pressure on him. He was big enough to stand up and take take it he should be big enough to take the shit that's coming his way
