We’ll sing what we want

It is. It might have meant something else in the 70’s but it’s now slang and nowt to do with disability.
I really agree with almost everything you’re saying in the thread. Song is 100% racist and should not be sang at all. However, I’m telling you for definite that M is an ableist word and really not acceptable to use any more. You seem like a decent person and someone who wants to be on the progressive side of society so I’d ask you trust me on this one. Apologies if this sounds patronising, just please stop using the word.

Yeah he's a lovely lad. Seems to understand all the nuances of what racism is, and is holier than thou. Then casually drops in the M word and refuses to apologise, in my eyes he's worse than those muppets in the South stand.

If it’s racially stereotyping then it absolutely is racist. How in 2022 are you trying to use this argument to say it isn’t racist
If you use a person's race, gender or religion you define yourself by ignoring the topic you are discussing.....two sides to every story... listening is a lost art

Except hair colour, gingers despair.

In a fairness the best looking girl at our school was ginger, stunning.
