Nothing against any supporter, but some of the chants the USA fans have a f***ing dreadful.

We were ill laughing in the England match when we heard them chanting "I believe that we will win", then heard our lot singing "what the f'ing hell was that" 😁

So a little bit of history on that chant - which, as an American, I agree is a complete steaming pile.

The original version isn't a chant, it's more of a song, it's in Spanish, and the words don't quite translate the same. It's one of the DC United songs and it's just a short round that's got a bit of a somber vibe and is sung when they're behind. The words translate not to "we believe we will win" but "we must win." It slowly morphed to the words being in English and then all of a sudden in the middle of the last decade the melody was gone and the national team cheering sections were bellowing it from ten minutes before kickoff. It was weird.

I’d have said that game was won on a poor defensive performance and bad decisions in the final third by the USA not Dutch dominance personally.

A total wankfest going on.

Agreed. In fact they had two or three individuals who were far better than the best Dutch players. Regardless of their defensive frailties they failed miserably in the final third.

He was stood all in his own for ages before the ball came to him. Terrible, especially when you've just got back into the game.
I would have been fewmin to have conceded a goal like that when I played in an over thirties duffers’ Sunday league team. For these pros, all full of vim and vigour, to make such an elementary mistake is laughable.
