Energy Prices - are they taking the piss???

Wear the same clothes more often. Have one bath night a week. Take a hot water bottle to bed. Do not sit around in shorts and football top. Problem solved.

So, your suggestion is, not live like a human being? Also, what about people with kids etc, they need to keep an element of heat in the place otherwise it leads to chest infections and so on and then the NHS gets involved and that then gets pressurised more at the busiest time of year. Still, whoever owns the car parks there will do well out of peoples misery.
 
Out of interest, are other countries hammering their people as much? Comes to something when one of the richest countries in the world are overseeing their people, freeze.
 
Waking up to £6-7 use showing on the meter with the heating at 18 degrees. Spend about the same during the day on top. Not a lot we can do with a new born in the house.

£900+ rise next year aswell, great!

Used £348.53 worth of energy last month according to my meter readings and their calculations and they want the dd up to £410.

Add the £66 from the government to £410 it comes out at £476 payment monthly, when I used to pay £165 per month.

I‘m a midges dick away from cancelling the dd and just use the credit up then pay as I use it.

I’m with Octopus and the wife has been sending in get readings every month but they take them off the smart meter anyway so I’ve told her to take readings and compare them with the online bill on the app . No need to send em in .

I had a hoody and long trousers on all yesterday. Still cost me 6 quid to be slightly less cold. Haway man it's ridiculous.

The government have put this country in the position where it's people are fucked over by things outside of our control. This has been coming for years whilst they've pissed about doing away with storage, not investing in new nuclear power stations etc

At least back then they probably had a coal fire, most people nowadays have a gas or electric one which costs 60p an hour to fire up (mine does anyway). Hence it's gathering dust, looks lovely like..nice glow effect with a marble style hearth / surround. Holds ornaments and a clock well
