Sunderland will face Saudi Arabian opposition Al Shabab in Friendly (poll in Parsnip)

Wouldn't be surprised if they're looking for some half-baked sheik with a reputation to wash to sell the club to. Would explain why they want to improve results but treat the fans like shit.

Jesus. It's not remotely the same, but you keep thinking this, you mag.
It's exactly the bloody same, and check my post history for not being a mag. Not getting at you skylon and don't agree with clubs being owned by despotic Arabs (would not support us or renew my season card if this was the case), Russian Oligarchs or anybody else who has got no interest in the English game but taking the moral high ground on just one set of issues sets a poor precedent.

It really isn't the same. We have no choice to play the mags or man city if we go up. We are obliged to play them. Go to the game , make a fuss about their ownerships.Take the p#ss.The club made a choice to play these Saudis. It's a disgrace.

Some of the reaction is very over the top here mind. Getting some good minutes under the belts of our players just returning from injury.

All for it me.
Is the correct answer, I have posted later on in the thread and been accused of being a mag by some bloke :)

But you needn't go, but I bet you do. If we ever reach the dizzying heights of being in the Champions League and draw PSG at home would you go as they are owned by the Qatari's ?
Daft argument from the start, it is a football match to get some practice for returning injured players, nothing more nothing less (and they were probably the only available team) , but we seem to be treating it as a political crusade.

Like I say, it's totally different. I am going to watch my team in a fixture they are obliged to play in, and my team aren't owned by a murderous state

This is a bit of a daft argument too mind, they can’t do anything now because you think they might not hypothetically do it in the future scenario that likely won’t happen

Is it fuck, a behind closed doors friendly against some Saudi side that as far as i can tell isn't owned by the Saudi regime is in no way close to being owned by the Saudi regime, should everything that's Saudi be boycotted because of their rulers?
People keep making this argument. Yes, it should, particularly in a sporting context. Russian teams and athletes have been quite rightly booted out of international competition, and England cricket and rugby teams got shot with shit for touring South Africa in the 80s.
This fixture is sportswashing because it's one small way by which Saudi authorities can pretend they have a normal functioning country.

We won't be cheering for the mags, city or psg under those circumstances you divvy!

It's going to be amazing If we ever get promoted to the Premier league again. 2 home games against Man City and Newcastle there will be nobody there as all our good support will boycott the games ;).

No, but our feelings will clearly be made to the mags and premier league for all to see when we do play them next.

The scum begging for and be funded by blood money will certainly take the next derby up a few notches off the field.

Would be a bit daft saying you would take a stand against PSG considering Sunderland currently have one of their players on loan.
