Departures

Be interesting to know what his fitness was like this year. The Glamorgan fans I spoke with were happy with him and curious why we let him leave but that was the first game
Could well be due to fitness, I've not taken much notice but I think he would be a decent squad member if fitness is ok I'm sure we'll have a list of targets for the forthcoming season. He's only 28 year old also. Rushy getting no younger, we won't see much of Potts, Salisbury has gone also. Quoting Marcus North in terms of "value for money", I think Weighall ticks boxes assuming his fitness is alright, and likely be moving back up to the region so that ticks another box. Obviously got to consider the development of the younger players also. It's a fine balance.

Surprised he got a new deal

I’m mixed on this, we did need one I guess but I wanted to play tom mac
Coggers new deal probably more of a reflection of our playing budget than anything. Genuine all-rounders in CC won't come cheaply and certainly way beyond our budget. If Coggers focused more on his batting and regarded his bowling more of an add on I'm sure he could be an asset. Presumably he'll be on the minimum for a senior player.
Agree regarding Tom Mac, he looks the real deal as a wicketkeeper but he needs to work on his batting and won't get the opportunity for that batting 8 or 9 in the 1st team.

I think coggers could be a middle order bat at times he looks excellent, as you say if he can be more like a stokes/colly (not as good but where his bowling is more of a bonus than a necessary) he could be excellent in this side.

Mackintosh has been batting at 8 or so even add a wicket keeper so it's a big ask to expect him to get in the side if he's not keeping

The battle for games will heat up as our youngsters develop but competition can only be good

Agree he'd be a useful squad member but I'd hang fire to see if any better options are out of contract. Potts is almost certain to get a central contract so him off the wages plus the extra payment we get for developing an England player should fund a quality overseas bowler. If we can find one...

Wouldn’t be so sure on Potts mate. Next summer if wood and archer are fit, big if, then Potts won’t make the squads
