Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

Where’s this promotion push talk come from? We are short on numbers and despite some encouraging performances have yet to win a home game. If Mowbray keeps us mid table he’s done a good job

Probably from some of the same posters who will now be talking about a relegation battle.

After throwing away points late on against QPR and then losing to Sheffield United, if we'd then lost to Stoke there would have been murmurs of discontent and questions being asked, guaranteed.

As it was, we won and everything was rosy. Football is a fickle world.

Just out of curiosity when should we be ambitious?

Shall we just settle for survival for the next decade?

Or could we use the feel good factor from last season, relatively small debt and group of young exciting players as a catalyst to kick on?

It saddens me how many of our fans think we should just be happy with survival. We’ve shown so far this season we can more than hold our own.
Next owners.
KLD is using SAFC to illustrate to his trust fund keepers that he can run a football club sensibly. Then he sells us for a profit in the PL and uses his profits/knowledge to buy into one of the big boys in France.

Desperate for a quick appointment due to the two clowns who couldn’t manage an under 13s team is the case imo.

My gripe is there wasn’t a safe pair of hands to step in when Johnson was sacked and we are in the exact same position now as the arrogance of Speakman hasn’t reflected on that situation which nearly cost us promotion. Nearly every club in the country except Safc will likely have stand in option available from within - we realised we didn’t after Johnson and it’s criminal that contingency situation hasn’t been rectified.

That said I think Mowbray is a decent appointment baring in mind our goal for this season is probably to hit mid table.
My main concern this time was that Speakman allowed the same to happen again which could easily have returned us to L1 with the delay of getting a manager/head coach.

We weren't going to challenge for promotion.

Squad was too thin. Our first XI can mix it with the best and we have spirit. But it's a long, hard slog of a season. We were set for mid table.

I think Alex Neil to Mowbray is probably worth about 5 league places. So I reckon we'll finish about 14th, 15th now.

And you know what: that's ok. Honestly. The wheels could really come off after something like that snake did to us on Friday. But with Mowbray, they probably won't. So yeah, I'd be annoyed with 14th, 15th on Friday. We looked set for better. But it's a massive blow and we need to focus on consolidating now. I am well behind a risk averse appointment. We can't go down again. Regroup in the summer.

Now, we need some players.

Agree with all that but not sure you can really put final positions on it, as that's too dynamic.

Gut feeling is exactly the same as when we appointed Parkinson. What a terrible week for the club, sucked so much of the good feeling out of the season.

The atmosphere has completely flipped on its head. I’m usually more glass half full but it’s pretty evident that Mowbray would be a largely unpopular appointment and has a mountain to climb with getting confidence instilled again in players, fans etc

Manning would be given the benefit of the doubt, Mowbray not so much

Fretful

Crowd atmosphere totally different to a message board man
