I think he wants to be near (within commuting distance) to his family. Preston area is only 60 miles up the M6 from Stoke, easy.

He put himself in the shop window with us, and did well.

He's now got a championship club within that area, jumped at it.

I doubt he wanted to live alone in a flat most days of the week tbh.
This was his plan from day one hence he contract set up.

This is a disaster. f***ing off at the first sign of a pay rise.

He was okay with the rolling contract, maybe we were not. We don't know yet. But I have a feeling he left the door open (to other clubs) and has complete belief in himself to do well. He did brilliantly here. But a rolling contract does suit both parties. Until it doesn't, as he held all the cards.

We probably can't Match Stoke's salry offer or the fact that he might be offered an old school managers job.
How? ,we can sack him at quite short notice and little severance ? Does he walk straight into a job ?
like everyone he has bills to pay

In five years he'll be sucking Sky Sports dicks for some punditry cash....On his knees for dollars

It's happened very quickly mind. Stoke only sacked O'Neill yesterday.
Yeh..... all they have to do is knock off the " O " and the last " L " and his names on the managers door the bas***ds

What about Neil Warnock to the rescue..

Plus, you might end up with Dyche.
He (along with Wilder & Robins) are the only options who are at least semi-realistic I would accept.

Don’t think there’s much chance though. I’ll be intrigued to see if we’d get some foreign lad in with experience of the championship. Bilic or Farke maybe.
