We’ve also got rich owners

Stoke don’t receive parachute payments anymore and get nowhere near what we get through the door so I fail to see how they can pay these massive wages and we can’t.

If we lose him to Stoke Dreyfus can fuck off
We can but won’t, simple.

It’s happening isn’t it.
I'd actually love this- has done great at Wycombe. rather Neill would stay
(tbh- I actually think he'd be a better option for stoke than Neil- the sort of manager who can find a tactic that works for them (ie shithouse their way out of trouble- since they are a poor squad)

Haven’t read the thread but I truly think he’d rather stay here and build on what he’s started, as long as he’s getting the backing he wants.
If he’s not getting the backing and he wants to stay and the club want him to stay it’s some hellish bargaining power he’s got.

I bet all this would be believed if it was a positive story in the Athletic, on sky sports news yellow ticker and a journalist had put out tweets about it though. There’d be no room for ‘this is just speculation’ in that context!

We’d have another thread about what a superb, unprecedented, spectacular job Speakman etc are doing.

I get it - we’ve been shit for years and people are desperate to buy in to any sort of good news/positive narrative. Some have just gone way too far and have thrown themselves in to that head first. There’s been plenty of cock ups in the past 18 months - massive cock ups - as well as the positives. People just don’t want to see them, and haven’t had to recently, because AN has done such a good job papering over them.

Don’t be stupid man.

Their football is absolutely shocking.

And I don’t want shithousing at my club.

No thanks.

Couple of things spring to mind (mine, in any case): 1) he's been tapped up at the match last Saturday and 2) Feels like when we were tapping up the Aberdoom manager for him to turn us down later ...... hope if all of this has some substance in it then AN tells them it's not for him.
