I really want to take a picture like that or crossing the moon and this is the site to help you plan to do that. I've never had a transit go over where is convenient for me to be when it has not been cloudy, though I've not checked for a while when transits will be. (Checking now, nowt in the next few weeks)
But as for the picture quality, the ISS is 108 meters long - roughly the length of a football pitch. It is 408 km high and is moving so fast it orbits the earth in about 90 minutes. Imagine you could prop the pitch of the SoL on it's side then you could head due south for 408 km, and that the curve of the earth was not going to be an issue. You would have to stand on the southern part of the M25 and try to take a photo of the SoL pitch. This level of denial would be claiming it doesn't exist because it is not a crystal clear picture. Then put your photographer in a car going the sort of speeds you can never achieve on the M25 so you only have a 2 second window to take the snap. You are not going to get a great image are you? CONSPIRACY!!!
The other interesting thing from that site is, put in your location and do a search, then click on one of the transits or "near misses". There is one near me next Sunday, but I can see if I were somewhere on a line that runs through Bromley and Southend-on-sea, I'd be in a great location. Like a solar or lunar eclipse it shows a path of 'totality' where the ISS goes through the middle of the view of the sun or moon, a band either side where it appears closer to the edge and then looking further and further away as you move away from this band. This is parallax. Hold up two fingers, one close to your eyes, one at the length of your arm and move them until you can't see the second finger, then move your head a bit and it starts to appear. To someone across the room wondering what the hell you are doing, they can see both. It is really easy to prove show how the exact effect being described on this site works.
Now this doesn't prove a flat or a globe earth. But what it does show is that the ISS exists, you can see it, and whatever it is, it is a lot closer than the sun or moon. There is something up there that doesn't look or move like an ordinary plane, never lands, never seems to need fuel and it is 100% predictable as to where it will be. Otherwise that site would fail. The equations used to predict where it will be use equations of circular motion, along with the height and speed THEY say the ISS is at all work. All very curious if there is something else at play. And the great thing is if you doubt the site, you can test and prove it yourself by just looking up at the right time (better through a telescope or binoulars) or work through the maths yourself and predict where it should be.
The second thing it shows (just through triangulation) is that the ISS is considerably closer than the moon. Again you can try this at home with ease. Use a torch and a little cut-out. Flash the cut out close to your torch and you will see it cross the surface of the torch from a lot of the room. The further away you move it, the narrower the band you can see it cross from. It all comes down to triangles and because the path is so narrow, a little bit of maths shows it must be so much closer than the light source. This starts to put a level of scale on space around us, and if the moon is projected on a dome, that dome is a long way away, or the ISS is closer than they say but roughly the size of a packet of crisps.
I'd love to see a ISS denier give a good explanation for what it is, how it stays up there, how it is always where people say it should be and then go through these equations of circular motion that are used to calculate the position and explain how they model a completely different reality. The best we have had on here is "dunno, might be a plane". A bit of a lame attempt.
