Blyth Gigaplant

Must of missed the last 12 years Labour were in government.
What I mean is that they have had prior to 2019 a Labour MP as long they have had MPs and I would presume a majority Labour council. For 13 years 1997 - 2010 they also had a Labour government and they must have been halcyon days for Blyth with Labour doing everything they could for them. Yet they voted in a Conservative MP ?

Aye it’s got so much better for them the last 3 years
Maybe 17400 of them noticed the 12 years of conservative government and compared it to what their labour MP had done over those 12 years?
Every Labour seat might as well of voted Tory then for the incumbent government in your perspective then.

I don't get why this is in the politics forum, it's a private business opening a large factory. The government had very little to do it bar a grant.

Also don't get how it's the governments fault if it doesn't open. Is it government's fault when Tesco didn't open 40 new superstores, or the Tories fault the club shop isn't open now...

Despise how this has turned political by certain Tory party members tbh.

I don't live in Blyth so I don't know whether it has. Covid has wrecked most peoples lives for 2 years. I'm simply asking you a reasonable question on the assumption you are a reasonable person but you seem either unwilling or unable to answer it.

No.

Just find it incredibly amusing how blyth voted Tory

Blyth VALLEY not Blyth, has had a strong Tory and Lib Dem vote before they decided to join together to try and push Labour out for years. There's been large areas of Cramlington who have been voting the Tories for years and areas like South Beach and Seaton Sluice used to be strong Lib Dem areas.

It's not really not that much of a surprise add the swap over of MP from Ronnie Campbell who has been MP for decades, who came in and started slagging off people who voted Brexit, in Brexit areas. She's now rightly a Parish counciller and nothing else (lost the council vote aswell (Susan Dungworth)).

The Tories didn't win Blyth Valley; Labour absolutely car crashed and lost it.

Boris made it political when he flew in to announce it before they were ready because he needed a good news story as we headed for a no deal exit.

Lord Chadlington or Mr Selwyn Gummer a Tory peer who is on the board makes it political. Not only is he a car battery expert he's a PPE expert as well and did very nicely out of that.

I just hope none of £100 million has been handed over yet
