Chemo on dogs

Just wondering if anyone has put their dog through chemo on here? Absolutely heartbroken my beautiful little Mille has lymphoma

Chemo been suggested but don’t want to put her through an awful ordeal if to much for her, as selfish as I want to be and keep her forever 😢

Take the advice from the vet mate. Hope it goes ok. Heartbreaking when stuff like this happens.

Aye horrible isn’t it mate

Yeah going in next week go through options, I just don’t want to put her through chemo if going to make her sick etc

Some will say just a dog but she is much more to me

Lymphoma is treated with chemotherapy. There are a variety of procedures used, but most consist of a variety of injections given on a weekly basis. Fortunately, dogs tend to tolerate chemotherapy better than humans; they rarely lose their hair or seem to feel significantly ill during chemotherapy.

Make no apologies for the love you have for your dog. None. Mine is my third child and I’ll happily admit to it.
What an awful situation. I have no advice except to say maybe have a look at a dog group? I’d Google to see if there are any that discuss chemo? I hope it’s a good outcome for Mille. My heart goes out to you xx

I’m in a couple of shih tzu groups and they are really helpful and informative about illnesses etc. It’s good to hear what other people have done and experienced with their dogs, treatments, outcomes, their feelings on it.

I really feel for you. Gives you that horrible feeling in your stomach. Xx

They really don’t. I want mine to stay with me forever. My heart will break when i lose her, I can’t bear to think about it tbh.

Take care and I hope it works out for you and Millie.
