O,nien V Matete

After reading Alex Neil’s opinion as to why Matete didn’t make the branch against Coventry due to covering all options it would seem it was a straight choice between O,nien and Matete. You can argue that O,nien has more versatility, however we had all positions covered with other players. Matete you can argue is raw, but more athletic than O,nien. So who would you pick between the 2. I would go for Matete personally.

Matete every time. Why do you need versatility when you can have so many subs and make five changes ?!?
Bit of a bullshit statement from AN if you ask me.

To be fair Alex Neil didn’t say anything regards versatility. I added that as one of O,nien qualities. Neil did however state that Matete wasn’t on the bench as you can’t really have too many midfielders for example. I checked and there was only O,nien who was central really. And yes Matete every time for me as well. I’m no hater of O,nien as he is such a nice lad it would seem and always gives his all. I just think it could be to the detriment of our team having him in over Matete who I think has great promise,
