You're not wrong mate. I reckon Brexit has finally pushed the Chinese over the edge.Project fear these days usually becomes reality.

I think it’s moved on a hell of a lot in the last 20 though. You’d need to go back further than 20 years. For the last 50 years China has led the new industrial revolution.
For those who don’t want to read up on it there is an episode on history 101 on Netflix that covers the rise of the new Chinese empire through manufacturing
I read he's under pressure from within the party for being weak on Taiwan. We assume these dictators are the worst of the worst without any idea of the ghouls lining up behind them.20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party takes place this year so this will make Jinping look good heading in to that.
Rather than being obsessed about money and power, killing fellow humans in the process, wouldn't it be great if all humans could just work together and fix the issues we all face as a species?
All that money spent on death and destruction of our species, other species and the planet. Thousands of billions over the years. It could have gone on useful stuff.

Interesting view on Pelosi's ill-advised visit here.
She's abandoning the agreement with China and provoking them. I assume she isn't so stupid as not to know how China would react, she had a couple of previous examples to refer to.I understand why some may call it ill-advised but what’s the alternative?
Should the US bow to China’s demands? If so, why?
The reason for calling her visit ill-advised appears to be that it had consequences…so does every course of action that one country wants and another doesn’t.
There are consequences to her not visiting.
There are economic, social, political and military consequences to arming Ukraine, yet here we are.
China is the single biggest threat to western society, at this moment in time.
We shouldn’t stand idly by and let them take over half the world as they’re trying to do. Taiwan is just the start.
I’m not so sure. They’re not gonna get many chances to position themselves this perfectly to attack.I don’t think so, not yet at least. I think they’ll continue to sit back and watch their mates with vast land and resources to the north get weaker by the day with more interest and Taiwan is a nice opportunity for a bit of power play and reminders to the world about how they feel over the subject. China are playing the long game imo.
I’m normally looking for any excuse to point the finger at Biden and his team. However that visit was a strong move.I doubt it although I'm still a bit baffled what Pelosi was trying to achieve with her visit.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
The falklands was rumoured that the invasion was a distraction from Argentinas debt.I thought they may try this when Russia kicked off, but they've got mortgage strikes going on and a bit of a housing crisis - I don't think it would be the smartest move right now
The west should recognise Taiwan as an independent country.
I don’t think so. The people will not allow a war against China over an island that they don’t even recognizeIf China attacks Taiwan, the full force of American military will be used to defend it
What makes you think she isn’t? It’s hardly conspiracy when she’s speaker, influencing trade deals and her husband then profits from trading with companies she’s dealt with.Pelosi isn’t evil. Honestly the conspiracy nonsense people believe. You’re better than this.
Actually, I’ll concede evil is a bit strong, corrupt is much bettePelosi isn’t evil. Honestly the conspiracy nonsense people believe. You’re better than this.

Explain what you mean by "taking over half the world" and what exactly is the "threat to western society"? As benign promoters of liberal democracy these are things we should understand before encouraging military intervention.

Who mentioned brexit. You're not wrong mate. I reckon Brexit has finally pushed the Chinese over the edge.
It's hard to won on away soil which is exactly why China will massively struggle to take Taiwan even without direct help from the USA.The same Americans who couldn't win in Afghanistan and Vietnam?
Depends how you define evil, making policies which benefit you and your husband while letting the people of the country you’re supposed to be helping stave and live in poverty could be construed as evil.China are inserting themselves into the economies of many developing countries by offering them loans that are too good to say no to, but that they default on anyways, and then China takes strategic assets as payment.
Case in point, that port in Sri Lanka. Paid for by Chinese money, with Chinese workers, and when Sri Lanka defaulted on the loans for it, the Chinese took it over.
They’re getting involved as a financier in several African nations and doubtless they have the same intentions.
I consider them a threat to the western world because of their shocking record on human rights and democracy, and their expansionist ideas.
Trying to take over the the South China Sea, crushing democracy in Hong Kong, next it’ll be Taiwan, then where?
We thought Hitler would stop with Czechoslovakia remember?
It’s a jump from “insider trading” to “evil”.
Okay, so you were condensing Wiki, but that still doesn't explain how you came to the conclusion it was our fault? After Japan’s defeat in World War II, Japan relinquished control of Taiwan and the government of the Republic of China (ROC), led by Chiang Kai-shek’s Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT), re-established Chinese control over the island. After the Chinese Communistsdefeated ROC government forces in the Chinese Civil War (1945-1949), the KMT-led ROC regime retreated to Taiwan and established the island as a base of operations to fight back to the Chinese mainland.
The new People’s Republic of China (PRC) government on the mainland, led by Mao Zedong, began preparations to “liberate” Taiwan by military force. This began a period of Taiwan’s de facto political independence from the Chinese mainland which continues today.
I kinda paraphrased the history to suit the SMB.
It seems people won’t read long posts or focus effectively on detail so my post was therefore brief, snappy, and tabloid like.
Apologies for any confusion my irreverent post caused.
Wait till you see my easy to understand theory on the velocity of money.Okay, so you were condensing Wiki, but that still doesn't explain how you came to the conclusion it was our fault?
Your post wasn't irreverent, it was just ignoring how complicated the background to Taiwan is. Even more so than what you've posted above but I get what you were trying to do.

you could argue that economic interdependence like this is one of the reasons why the invasion in Taiwan hasn’t happened yet.We all need to stop buying cheap shite from China, then they would not be the threat that they are.
