Whisky

Noticed House of Malt had KK heavily peated( since sold out) but still have Longrow bottles for those wanting something from Springbank/KK
The Whisky Cellar ( Indy bottlers) are they the same people/owners as House of Malt ?

Anyone had their bottles ?

Nothing to do with House of Malt as far as I know other than that they released a HoM bottling. Fairly sure they’re based in Edinburgh. I’ve had a good Glen Moray from them, a mediocre Benrinnes and a poor Miltonduff.

Saw those earlier, intriguing.

Wemyss Malt's have released a 25yo single cask Mortlach priced @ £200, doesn't seem too bad in comparison to other's pricing these days
Aye, I saw that too. Tempted but I’ve got a couple of cask shares to fork out for this month. Picked up the 24yo secret Speyside and 19yo blend (sounds like Balvenie) from the MoM bottles, though. Would have bought the Tomatin 36 over the others but was sold out before I saw it.

November I believe

There’s a Springbank release due at the end of August too. In the meantime, the next Cadenhead release.

Kilkerran sounds nice, can you reserve these bottles or do you need to be a member?

I’ve tried the Benriach and Speyside as they were in the Cadenhead Club tasting lineup at the Campbeltown festival. I didn’t think either were particularly good. Same tasting as the surprising Brazilian whisky - I hope they bottle that soon.

Never had any of the Cadenheads releases...tempted with Balmenach
I've got an unopened Ben Nevis from their recent warehouse tasting, picked it up instore, and a Kilkerran 5yo from their 2021 annual release which I had to grab via auction. Both unopened as yet like.
Have to be a member to make reservations/enter ballots. The Kilkerran will never see the shelves
I guessed as much, not really worth me forking out for a membership only to enter the odd ballot as I don't buy a lot from them and I'm not sure I ever will. It's just the odd release which captures my attention that's all. Gutted I missed out on the 14yo Islay from the festival this year like, particularly as I was actually there whilst it was on sale but I had my attention set squarely on the SB/LR/HB and KK releases and didn't think to look out for it

It’s a lifetime membership and you get to do one free warehouse tasting every year. I’ve always enjoyed the warehouse stuff even when there hasn’t been any whiskies I’m interested in.

I got a couple of bottles when I visited the area last year and they are amongst the bottles that I have enjoyed the most. The delivery charge per bottle is always off putting for me when you only wish to buy one or two bottles.

Looks like there are going to be some significant price rises on the Springbank core range. The 21yo is going up to £270 which is quite the increase.
The auction prices seem to be dropping too, over the last 6 months they've come down a fair bit. Mind they had kind of spiked in the 6 months or so leading up to that. Can't blame the distilleries for cashing in, but those who are taking the piss are best avoided IMO

To be honest getting hold of most Springbank or KK is so difficult for most that price almost irrelevant.

Of course increases might put some off and make more available.

Still never managed to ever nab a 12 CS and now barely even look for it.

Plenty of other good stuff or even drams I’ve never tried
